1. The Good Shepherd dies for his sheep.
In the O.T. it was the sheep who died for the shepherds. Now it is the Good Shepherd who does for the sheep.
2. The Good Shepherd knows His sheep.
He could have said my sheep know me. but He said I know them. The word “knowing” in the Bible carries with it more than just intellectual awareness it also carries with it relational intimacy.
3. The Good Shepherd brings other sheep into the flock.
He is the door into the flock. (The people of God)
4. The Good Shepherd takes up His life again.
The Good shepherd died voluntarily but rose victoriously.
5. The Good Shepherd gives eternal life to His sheep and does not take it back.
Promises made promises kept!

Why would Jesus gives us eternal life if we could lose it?
lets consider this from our own perspective. . . if you could lose your salvation you would have already done so.
Jesus does not herd us he helps us. Jesus leads His sheep He does not drive His sheep.
By the way these ministries are exactly why He is a good shepherd.
