Genesis 3:1–10 NASB 2020
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any animal of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; 3 but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’ ” 4 The serpent said to the woman, “You certainly will not die! 5 For God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will become like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings. 8 Now they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 He said, “I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.”

Can You Trust Him As Elohim vs 1

God was introduced to man as LORD God (YAWEH Elohim: LORD God)
Genesis 2:4 (NASB 2020)
This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made earth and heaven.
God was described as such in relationship with His creation man
The line of questioning was from a place of dissension from Lucifer
Isaiah 14:12–16 NASB 2020
12 “How you have fallen from heaven, You star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who defeated the nations! 13 “But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 14 ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ 15 “Nevertheless you will be brought down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit. 16 “Those who see you will stare at you, They will closely examine you, saying, ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms,
Ezekiel 28:14–16 NASB 2020
14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 “You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you. 16 “By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, you covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire.
By Lucifer losing his position and authority on earth his questioning man revealed weakness (Though created perfect/sinless/innocent).
Lucifer’s method is to make you:
Discredit the persons of the God
Doubt HIs word as an authority
Create self-willed ambition to fulfill the desires of the emotions and forsake the spiritual.
1 John 2:16 (NASB 2020)
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
In the post-modernism/post-christian society we live in a culture that is driven by the emotional experience which has to be matched through showmanship and entertainment. Also, this societal perspective has become motivated by cultural influences which we see through the Luciferian approach in the garden of Eden.
FYI
Post-Modernism: Western philosophy, a late 20th-century movement characterized by broad skepticism, subjectivism, or relativism; a general suspicion of reason; and an acute sensitivity to the role of ideology in asserting and maintaining political and economic power. Basically everything is relative!
Post-Christianity: the situation in which Christianity is no longer the dominant civil religion of a society but has gradually assumed values, culture, and worldviews that are not necessarily Christian.
Lucifer/Satan wants you to consider him, his agenda, and influence as harmless and secret or apocalyptic Knowledge as truth.
Can we trust God as Elohim? Yes!
Psalm 103:19 (NASB 2020)
The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all.
Psalm 115:3 (NASB 2020)
But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.
Ephesians 1:11 (NASB 2020)
In Him we also have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things in accordance with the plan of His will,

Can You Trust God’s Word? vs. 2-5

Satan (Serpent) isn’t omniscient, therefore he can only manipulate what is spoken or performed (Words and Deeds).
Satan knows what God demands but his prideful agenda superceded God’s purpose for man and authority of earth.
Satan manipulated the ignorance of the woman and perverted the order of God by deception.
Satan had to ensure that his feelings became her motivation to rebel against God. (Emotional Pride)
Status of being “like” God (same as Satan self promotion and elevation)j
Apocalyptic Knowledge/Secret Knowledge: Knowledge of good and evil
Usurping the need for her husband as priest or need for God’s word with this new acquired insight
Usurping the need for God (Believing that she will be like Elohim)
Usurping the authority of God because their was no immediate consequence or judgement. This leads to defiant behaviors.
Satan plays on the vulnerability of our ignorance and free will
Can We trust God’s word? Yes!
The Bible says about his word:
Psalm 119:160 (NASB 2020)
The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments is everlasting.
Isaiah 55:11 (NASB 2020)
So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it.
Isaiah 66:5 (NASB 2020)
Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: “Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you on account of My name, Have said, ‘Let the Lord be glorified, so that we may see your joy.’ But they will be put to shame.
John 17:17 (NASB 2020)
Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

Can You Trust Gods Results? vs 6-7

The serpent pushed the idea that God has withheld this from you and no consequence of God’s judgement of death
The serpent sold woman on the Luciferian plot and her response was:
Made an intellectual decision (Totally convinced)
Made an emotion appraisal
Responded with a physical behavior (She ate)
She gave some to her husband. (He was present, He ate)
The Awareness of the rebellious act was immediate.
They experience a spiritual awareness that was never experienced in time
Their shame was evident
Their nakedness was apparent
Their poor attempt to cover themselves was subpar at best
Can we trust God’s results? Yes!
2 Corinthians 1:20 (NASB 2020)
For as many as the promises of God are, in Him they are yes; therefore through Him also is our Amen to the glory of God through us.
Psalm 84:11 (NASB 2020)
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.
Hebrews 10:23 (NASB 2020)
Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;
