Introduction

The thing people build on will bring strength to them or make them fall
The foundation that some believers build om does not have the capacity to sustain them when trial, troubles and temptation comes.
I want others to understand the importance of building on things that are eternal

Foundation

Matthew 7:24-27
The foundation you build on is important
Its not enough to just hear the word, read your bible, even to go to church if you don't apply the word you hear to your life.
Do what jesus says
Thus hearing and heeding Jesus’ words is wise; one who does not is foolish. Only two courses of action are possible—two kinds of roads and gates (Matt. 7:13–14), two kinds of trees and fruit (vv. 15–20), two kinds of foundations and builders (vv. 24–27).
Louis A. Barbieri Jr., “Matthew,” in The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures, ed. J. F. Walvoord and R. B. Zuck, vol. 2 (Wheaton, IL: Victor Books, 1985), 36.
The analogy introduced in the previous verse continues here. In the scenario of a house built on a rock, flooding and strong winds have no effect on the house because of its solid foundation. The foundation thus stands for putting into practice Jesus’ teachings.
Douglas Mangum, ed., Lexham Context Commentary: New Testament, Lexham Context Commentary (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2020), Mt 7:24–27.
Rock
Sand
Build your life-on a the word of God. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from God. How is it we can feed the physical body whatever it want, how much it want, and whenever it wants, BUT WE'LL LET OUR SPIRIT MAN STARVE. you are made up of body, soul, and spirit and all three areas need your attention or you become imbalanced.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as you soul prospers. 3 john 2 NKJV
TEXT
jesus is teaching the sermon on the mountain to the multitudes that was following him because of all the healings he had performed, people were being delivered from demonic possession. In-drawing His Concluding illustration of the two foundations, Jesus begins with the word therefore. On the basis of all He has taught and illustrated, He concluded that all who hear and do what He said will be saved. Jesus reminded them that hearing the message wont save his life. He must do both hear and do what he said.
WIND
Blowing from the four quarters of heaven. The east wind was parching, and is sometimes mentioned as simply denoting a strong wind. This wind prevails in Palestine from February to June, as the west wind does from November to February. The south was a hot wind. It swept over the Arabian peninsula-there are three Hebrew words used to denote the rains of different seasons, Yoreh, or moreh, denoting the former or the early rain. Bodies of flowing water that operate as territorial boundaries or serve literary functions in biblical narratives
rock-The rock foundation represented the Lord Himself and the truths He had been presenting, especially the truth concerning inner transformation

the rivers came Refers to flash floods. In dry climates like that of Palestine, the ground often could not absorb large amounts of rainwater, resulting in rapid flooding that could produce violent rivers.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say
The Holy Bible: King James Version, Electronic Edition of the 1900 Authorized Version. (Bellingham, WA: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2009), Lk 6:46.
