Salvation of Man

Man’s only Hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God
Romans 6:23 (NIV)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So the question is How?
How do we recieve salvation? Redemption?
“Salvation is an offer made to all men, but it is not automatic, sadly there will be people who die in there sin’s and never experience the beautiful rescue from God.”
I’m sure you know people that have died in their sins. I do. Slavation is not authomatically applied to each person. Thats called “Universalism: the belief that all humankind will eventually be saved”.
This is a rejected doctrine for it is not biblical nor is it truth.
Others believe, salvation is for a limited people. This is called Calvanism: they believe there is a few select for heaven, which God predestined. Not biblical nor truth.
Neither of these are teachings given as a theme of what God has said from Genesis 12 all the way to the fullfilment of Jesus’s shed blood.
NO prophesy mentions the predestined, and to take universalism, the bible mentions as a theme. meaning a reoccuring truth, that one must profess and be a follower, not that these things are recieved.
You have to come to Jesus.

So how do we access the amazing Gift of Salvation?

1. Through Faith

ONly Faith
Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Faith is not just saying “oh yeah I believe in God, I belive in Jesus, that he died for my sins”..
It is not this intellectual thought we ahve in our brains.
This is the issue with religion. Faith becomes meaninless when it becomes internally measured by the human mind. If you tick faith into speaking “holy”, if you bear faith, becaue of the hours logged in a book for volunteer service, this is not faith. This is service.
John 3:16 NIV
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
that word believes does NOT mean oh well yeah I can wrap my mind around it enough to cash out my ticket.
Faith has to be the type of faith that shapes who you are on the inside, flows from the core of your very being. It causes all the rest of your life to flow from within it.
That type of faith leads to the second thing.

2. Through Repentance

Through Faith gives you access the gift of Salvation, but through repentance you recieve it.
Without repentance in the church you have birthed a lot of lukewarm christians that might not be christians at all.
The True faith that is required changes who you are and authomatically leads you to True Repentance.
Acts 3:19 NIV
19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Repentance is necessary to have your sins blotted out. Its not secondary its necessary.
Remember last week we discoved how mankind fell from glory. In this there was no connection with God.
What happens was sin replaced God as King. For Sin is rebellion, but under salvation and through the blood of the Lamb God replaces sin as king in your life, and takes rightful place and authority in your life.
Which means if our faith is only an acknowledgment than sin is still our king. And our awareness of God is an additional cause for damnation in Hell.
1 John 3:6 NIV
6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
1 John 3 6
Do you know God? Are you still willingly living in a fallen state? Or do you Glorify the Father with your body?
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 NIV
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
Hebrews 10:26-31
Hebrews 10:26–31 (NIV)
26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
If your sin has caused you to be adutrous against God then repentance brings you back into the wedding vows.
If your sin of rejection has caused you to live a life of terrible decisions then repentance brings back your sanity.
If your sin causes you to emotionally lash out on those around you, then repentance takes control again.
If you sin causes you to be laxadasical in life, then repentance restores God’s purpose and gives ambition.
Repentance means that you are no longer going the way you feel like it right, repentance is the decision to adopt God’s way now.
Which means you have now changed direction!
Isaiah 6:7 NIV
7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”
If you have saving, core faith in jesus than you will want to automatically have a mindset to repent. A yearing to be purified. As Isaiah cried, touch the coal to my lip.
When the coal touched isaiahs lip, he says he was atoned for. His personal guilt was taken away, and his sin was paid for.
the coal came from the altar of atonement or incesnse. an altar that is continually burning.
If you dont think there is anything in your life that needs to be changed than you have never believed. You have not put your faith in Jesus.
Not only that but lets be honest. maybe we know there are things wrong, If you are not taking the actions to stop those things, to better those areas of your life, of which you darn right know God has told you to fix along time ago. Then do you truely have conviction, or do you just feel bad.
Romans 1:28–31 NIV
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.
Examples:
The life of Peter: shows true repentance. Sure he made a many mistakes, but Jesus corrected him, lead him, taught him, showed him .and peter changed. The Holy Spirit was upon Him he preached and wow.
The life of Judas. shows acknowledgement without a commitment. Do you think judas only handled money for 3 1/2 years? No judas was among those sent out by twos. Judas preached the gospel. Judas prayed over people, Judas cared for the Sick, Judas made box lunches for the poor, he might have gripped and complained about it.
The difference in these two people isnt how they taught, ministered. Its in there loyalty.
One had a loyalty to self preserve and the other had a loyalty to proclaim.
The difference are the actions one takes to do such a thing.
Both had issues. One changed and became a better man, the other remained the same wretched man. And just as romans 1 28 says, God gave him over to his depraved mind.

What happens when you are Saved?

1. Your Spirit is reborn and alive. John 3:3

You can now hear from God, commune with God. Before salvation God pulled you, and put people before you and around you. But now through the blood He is in you!
THe Holy Spirit comes to live in your heart. He is the key to so much change within your heart that is to come.
The bible states “ you are a new creation(2 cor 5:17), you are born again( John3:3), you now have the Spirit of God and the life of God active in you(Romans 8 9-11).

2. You are reconciled to God. Romans 5:10.

Romans 5:10 NIV
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
at one point becaue of our sin we were an enemy to God. yet because Jesus and our prfession of faith we are a friend of God.
(Profession - means a paid occupation, involves training and a fromal qualitifaction.)

3. Redeemed from the price and penalty of Sin. Hebrews 9:12.

Hebrews 9:12 NIV
12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.
our verdict has been wiped away. When you come to Christ. God gets rid of the verdict not by getting rid of it but by covering it with the blood. By the way this is what justicication is. Found in Romans 5 1-2
Romans 5:1–2 NIV
1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

4. Forgiven of your sins. Ephesians 1:7.

5. You are rescued from the power and dominion of Sin. Romans 6.

6. You are adopted into the family of God. Romans 8 14-17.

7. Your chains are broken. Psalm 107:14.

8. You recieve a purpose. 1 Peter 2:9.

9. You become Heirs of the Kingdom. James 2:5.

10. You have Authority and Power. Luke 10:19; 2 Timothy 1:7.

There aer many more amazing things happening when you are saved. Physically, Spiritually, Mentally, God does not come to offer salvation simply for us to be left alone. Salvation brings our souls into the divinity of Heaven. Restoring what was once lost. Even though our restoration is limited it brings us into a blessed hope that one day, our savior will come and recieve us for the last time. For we will remain with Him. In all Eternity.
Our own salvation should be a root for how and why we disciple others.
HOwever, with our new life we too must be careful. Last week, we read and saw in detail how the serpant entered, its important to note the strategy of the enemy, but also what Satan is after.
Youre authority.
(bring up our example from earlies.)
Learned Helplessness- Cognative Dissonacne.
If satan can make you doubt your salvation then he can deduse cognative dissonance to your walk of faith. If satan is able to make you doubt your slavtion, it may lead you to questioning your beliefs and faith. Resulting in life outside having increased fear, built up anxiety and spiritual emptiness.
Remember salvation is a free gift. God’s love is unconditional and eternal, no amount of doubt nor deception from satan can change that.
But than

How do you know you are saved?

1. Recognize the work of the Holy Spirit

Romans 8:16 NIV
16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

2. Your life changes as God begins making you like Jesus

Titus 2:11–14 NIV
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
