Matthew 16:18 NKJV
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

1. Our Foundation is Important.

2 Timothy 1:5 NKJV
5 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.
1 Corinthians 3:11 NKJV
11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 6:1 NKJV
1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
First and foremost, Jesus is our foundation and our relationship with Christ.
Sometimes we confuse status with relationship.
my material status is married. a status has nothing to do with the quality of my relationship.
every human relationship goes through peaks and valleys. when it comes to our relationship with the Lord we know that the problem lies, it lies with us!
what do we need to do we need to simply return to the lord.
Malachi 3:7 NKJV
7 Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances And have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says the Lord of hosts. “But you said, ‘In what way shall we return?’
the depth and berth of a building is determined by its foundation.
like timothy you may have grown up in a house hold of faith and even made that faith your own. yet yow seen to have drifted a way. the first thing you should do is return. have a conversation with the Lord, what is that called? prayer.
one of the ways we listen to the Lord is in His word. start reading the word again.
you need to encourage the brethren and be encouraged by the brethren. in order for that to occur, you need to be in fellowship with active believers and not just status believers.
you also need to be doing what your doing right now, that is sitting in Church!
if you went seeking “other truth” in false religions- Remember there is no other foundation than christ.
Hebrews 6:1 Tells us that there is a foundation and when we get off track we need to return to that foundation!

2. How we build is important.

1 Corinthians 3:9–16 NKJV
9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
be careful who you let speak into your life. We need to know they are looking at His blue prints.
1 Corinthians 3:9 NKJV
9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.
Ministers need to be ministering according to the spirit and the truth. ministers should be people of prayer and practice. you have a great Church- so you don’t have to worry about prayer and word.
we need to go back to the ordinances we talked about a few minutes ago, How you do what you do is important.

3. it only takes one generation.

this simple truth has two sides.
Eli was a priest with two sons: and those sons where evil.
1 Samuel 2:12 NKJV
12 Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the Lord.
But Samuel was a prophet/priest. However Samuel's sons did not serve the Lord.
Genesis 4:26 NKJV
26 And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.
it only takes a:
Joshua
Gideon
Nehemiah
it only takes one in a generation to say as Isaiah Lord here i am send me.

4. There is Hope

Philippians 1:6 NKJV
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
2 Thessalonians 2:16 NKJV
16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace,
Romans 15:13 NKJV
13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
