What is Power? Power is Authority!

In the New Testament, the Greek word translated "power" is dunamis, the source of the English words dynamic and dynamite

God gives power to all mankind in the form of the spirit in man.

He equips us with whatever we need to accomplish what He is working out.

What is Authority? Authority is Power!

Spiritual authority is “the God-given right to receive and use God's power that flows from the indwelling Holy Spirit”

We must first understand who we are.

Genesis 1:11-25 (Creation Mandate)

· God spoke to the earth and told it to Produce vegetation and seed! (Grass in backyard)

· God spoke to the sky and told it to produce light!

· God Spoke to the water and told it to Produce Fish

· God spoke to the sky and told it produce birds!

· God spoke to the earth and told it to produce land animals! (Guard Dog)

· God spoke to himself to create you!

Genesis 1:26- 27

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”

27 So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female.

· Image: Character/ Nature(Natural)

· The Nature is what is natural to a creature. We are created to act just like our Father

· Image is the essence of God. In the essence, we enter into the God-class. When Satan see’s you, He is supposed to see the Essence of the Father.

· Likeness: Function or operate like God

· How does God function?? Faith! Believing something before you see it!

· Worrying is not in our Nature, Stop worrying!

When God wanted something to happen, He spoke to the thing that He wanted to create whatever He wanted.

Whatever God spoke to, produced exactly what He said! God type of Faith!

· “Let us” (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)

· We are God’s Image Bearers in the earth

· We are God’s representatives in the earth

· We are God’s Ambassadors in the earth!

· In the ancient world an image was believed to carry the essence of that which it represented.

· Whoever’s Image you carry has Authority over you

Genesis 2:7-8

7 Then the Lord God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.

8 The Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he placed the man he had formed.

Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 45:18

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

· Why did god create the earth?

18 For this is what the Lord says— the Creator of the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, the one who established it (he did not create it to be a wasteland, but formed it to be inhabited)—he says, “I am the Lord,

· God did not put us here to Go to heaven; We came from heaven!

· We are on a Colonizing Mission, a mission to make this domain look exactly like the homeland, Heaven!

Psalms 82:1-8

1 God presides in the great assembly; he renders judgment among the “gods”:

· Big “G” and little “g”.

· Who are the little gods? You and I

· Remember Image and Likeness? We are gods because we come from with God!

· Colossians 1:27 27 God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

2 “How long will you a defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?

3 Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

5 “The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness;

all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

· The gods do not know who they are, so they walk in Ignorance(Darkness)

6 “I said, ‘You are “gods”;you are all sons of the Most High.’

7 But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler.”

8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance.

John 10:30-34

30 I and the Father are one.”

· Identity

RENEWED EFFORTS TO STONE JESUS

31 Again the Jews picked up rocks to stone him.

· Because Jesus was speaking Kingdom talk, The religious people wanted to stone him.

· We have a choice to make, Are we going to follow the blueprint of Jesus or are we afraid of what the world may think or do to us.

32 Jesus replied, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these works are you stoning me?”

33 “We aren’t stoning you for a good work,” the Jews answered, “but for blasphemy, because you—being a man—make yourself God.”

34 Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, I said, you are gods?

· Remember Psalms 82:1-8!

Luke 17:21

nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

· Jesus is not speaking of the inwardness of the kingdom, but of its presence. “The whole language of the kingdom of heaven being within men, rather than men being within the kingdom,

· We bring the entire Kingdom everywhere we go!

Romans 8:11–17

11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you.

12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh,

13 because if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

14 For all those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. 15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!”

· 1 John 3:9-10 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

16 The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, 17 and if children, also heirs —heirs of God and coheirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

· The BIG Spirit and the little spirit!

· We are heirs, not only heirs, but coheirs with Christ!

· Because we come from God, we receive the inheritance that comes with being children of the King!

· As believers, we share in the same privileges as Christ!

Ephesians 3:20

20 Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us.

· Do not be afraid to ask God for that Crazy Faith petition.

· He can go above and beyond that petition.

· We have not because we ask not!

· The Power that is at work in you is the Holy Ghost Power!

· Dunamis is where we get dynamite from.

God has given us explosive power!
