God is Courting You!
God is Courting You!
Hosea 2:14-16
14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, And bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfortably unto her.
15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, And the valley of Achor for a door of hope: And she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, And as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
16 And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi; And shalt call me no more Baali.
Revelation 3:20
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Introduction:
Beloved, today we are going to delve into a beautiful truth: God is courting you! Just as a suitor passionately pursues the one they love, so does God pursue us with a relentless, unfailing love. In a world where many feel forgotten or unloved, it’s crucial to remember that the Creator of the universe desires an intimate, loving relationship with each of us.

1. The Heart of God in Pursuit
Hosea’s Prophetic Love Story:
• Hosea 2:14-16: In the book of Hosea, God uses the prophet’s marriage to symbolize His relationship with Israel. Despite Israel’s unfaithfulness, God remains committed to winning her back. He speaks tenderly, offering hope and restoration.
• Explanation: This passage highlights God’s passionate pursuit. Despite our failures and wanderings, God does not give up on us. He woos us back to Himself, desiring to restore the relationship.
Scripture Reference:
• Jeremiah 31:3: “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”

Jesus Knocks on Our Hearts:
• Revelation 3:20: Jesus stands at the door and knocks, waiting for us to open and invite Him in. This is an invitation to a personal, intimate fellowship with Him.
• Explanation: Jesus desires more than a superficial relationship. A superficial relationship refers to a connection between individuals that lacks depth, authenticity, or meaningful interaction. In such relationships, interactions tend to be shallow, focused on surface-level topics or activities without delving into deeper emotions, values, or personal vulnerabilities.
He longs to be deeply involved in our lives, to share in our joys and sorrows, and to be our closest companion.
Scripture Reference:
• John 15:15: “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”
Illustration:
• Imagine a friend who always stands by your side, ready to share in your life’s journey. Jesus wants to be that friend, inviting us to an ongoing, intimate relationship where we share everything with Him.

Open Your Heart to His Love:
• Revelation 3:20: Jesus waits for our response. Opening the door to Him involves inviting Him into every part of our lives and allowing His love to transform us.
• Explanation: Our response to God’s courtship is crucial. We must actively open our hearts, allowing His love to fill and guide us.
Scripture Reference:
• Song of Solomon 2:10: “My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.”

• Picture a bride responding to her groom’s proposal with joy and commitment. Our relationship with God is a divine romance where we respond to His love with our whole hearts.

Experiencing Renewal and Restoration:
• Hosea 2:15: God promises to turn the Valley of Achor into a door of hope. His love transforms our valleys of trouble into places of hope and renewal.
• Explanation: God’s love is not only inviting but also transforming. As we accept His love, it changes us, bringing healing and new life.
Scripture Reference:
• 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

• Think of a garden that has been neglected and then lovingly restored to full bloom. God’s love takes the broken and barren places of our lives and brings forth beauty and fruitfulness.
Conclusion:
Beloved, God is courting you with an everlasting love. He desires an intimate, transformative relationship with you. Just as a loving suitor pursues their beloved, God is pursuing your heart. Open the door to Him, respond to His invitation, and allow His love to transform your life.
