He is Risen – Believe!

JOHN 1-4 WILL YOU BELIEVE JESUS IS GOD, MESSIAH, AND SAVIOR? JOHN 5-9 DON’T REJECT THE AUTHORITY, SOVEREIGNTY, DIVINE SOURCE, AND DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST. REJECTION REVEALS SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS. JOHN 10-11 TRUST IN JESUS WHO IS YOUR SHEPHERD, HAS POWER OVER ALL, AND CARES FOR YOUR SOUL JOHN 11 (RAISING LAZARUS) JESUS’ POWER OVER DEATH REVEALS HIS MESSIAHSHIP. GOD GENUINELY CARES ABOUT OUR HURTING HEARTS! JOHN 12 CONFLICT OF BELIEF EACH PERSON MUST CHOOSE WHETHER THEY WILL BELIEVE IN JESUS AND USE THEIR LIFE FOR ETERNAL IMPACT. JOHN 13-17 JESUS TEACHES AND PRAYS FOR THE DISCIPLES ABOUT SERVICE, FAITHFULNESS, AND RELATIONSHIP WITH EACH OTHER, THE WORLD, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT JOHN 18:1-11 (ARREST OF JESUS) AS GOD, JESUS WILLINGLY COMMITS HIMSELF TO DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER TO DIE FOR MAN. FOLLOW GOD’S DESIGN FOR YOUR LIFE. JOHN 18:12-27 PETER’S DENIAL AT JEWISH TRIAL DON’T REJECT TRUTH; RECOGNIZE SPIRITUAL FAILURE. JOHN 18:28-19:16 ROMAN TRIAL REJECTING THE TRUTH OF JESUS LEADS TO CONDEMNATION. JOHN 19:17-37 BELIEVE JESUS DIED TO PAY FOR YOUR SIN. He is Risen – Believe! JOHN 19:38-20:18 OVERCOMING UNBELIEF 1. Jewish leadership fearing man no longer live in fear of being identified with Jesus. 19:38-42 2. Disciples lacking understanding believe what is true. 20:1-10 3. A Woman in despair believes and proclaims the risen Lord! 20:11-18 DON’T ALLOW FEAR, LACK OF UNDERSTANDING, AND DESPAIR LEAVE YOU IN DISBELIEF; RATHER, BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD AND YOUR SAVIOR! THE REALITY OF THE RESURRECTION OVERCOMES ALL FORMS OF UNBELIEF! APPLICATION 1. If you don’t believe Jesus is God and your Savior, ask yourself why. What is keeping you from believing? What are you basing your belief upon? Reason, emotion, experience, spirituality, religiousness. Base belief on the reality of the resurrection and the truth of the Word of God. APPLICATION 2. The reality of the resurrection should lead you to belief! 3. As a believer, recognize how fear, lack of understanding, and despair can lead you to believing wrongly about God. When I doubt what is true about God, it leads to choices of rejecting God’s desires. APPLICATION 4. In talking with others about the Lord, it is helpful to understand what motivates someone from not believing what is true. Ask good questions of people rather than making assumptions about what and why people believe what they believe. BELIEVE; DON’T ALLOW ANY OBJECTION KEEP YOU FROM THE TRUTH OF JESUS IN SCRIPTURE!
