Euthanasia
Introduction
the act or practice of killing or permitting the death of hopelessly sick or injured individuals (as persons or domestic animals) in a relatively painless way for reasons of mercy
The word refers to the process by which people’s deaths are intentionally brought about by themselves or others, sometimes for generally commendable ends p 23 such as the relief of pain and suffering. In other words, while some people use the term euthanasia only when one person is killed by another (i.e., “mercy killing”), the term is broad enough to also encompass suicide and assisted suicide as well as the withholding of life-sustaining care with the intention of ending a person’s life.

People Should Have The Right.
In 2002 Belgium legalized euthanasia for adults. In February 2014, the lower house of Belgium’s parliament voted 86 to 44 to extend the “right to die” to include children, a measure that had already passed the country’s senate three months before. Euthanasia for children, with parental consent, has been legal in the Netherlands, Belgium’s neighbor, since 2002.
