Big Problems
Big Problems
Illustration: Things too big for us
Have there ever been something in life that is too big?
A situation, a doctors report, a financial struggle?
Mark 9:14–18 “And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them. And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him. And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them? And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.”
Place of Faith
Place of Faith
When brought to the disciples, it was a place of little faith
They could not do a miracle because they had little faith
My prayer is that when you come with your need that’s too big for you that this is a place of faith
That those words aren’t said of us, let us not terrible at the needs too big for us but let us say HE CAN DO ANYTHING
Help mine unbelief
Help mine unbelief
in verse 21 Jesus shifts the focus from the disciples to the father with the ill son
It’s here that the curtain rolls but that not were the disciples struggling in their faith but he was
Jesus would ask how long has it been since the demon entered him?
And I can image a defeated posture as he would respond “of a child”
This problem he was facing wasn’t new, it was something that had just come up but since he was a child
The father made up in his mind to take it to Jesus
