The Spirit, Not The Flesh
The Spirit, Not The Flesh
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
I have 2 questions for you:
What is has happened to the outward you?
What happens daily to the inward you?
What is the largest organ of your body? Your Skin - Which covers the entire body, providing protection from bacteria, and other threats. God made us, and yet we are talking about Faith Over Flesh; why? 2 Corinthians 10:4 “4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,”
We cannot be talking about what we see, because Hebrews 11:1 “1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” It is difficult to change the lenses from natural, to Spiritual, primarily because we have been engaged in a system that has forced the natural, to be the truth. . .
We say this often, “But, sometimes, it’s hard. . .” That is an arrogant statement, because Jesus did it, why can’t you? John 1:14 “14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
If we grab hold to His Glory, then we know that He is The Truth, The Way, The Life and in order to operate in The Kingdom, we must shift our minds from the natural.
What happens is we allow the gratification of what the world systems bring us, to satisfy our thinking, which we then give into the temptation because it strokes our ego or touches that special place in our heart! Romans 7:25 “25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.” Paul is saying that we need to know the difference, and not mingle the two, but have an understanding that they need to be separated.
You have multiple functions that you operate in, and if you do not know how to take off and put on, then you will cause an overlap of functions, which leads to dysfunctions (Failure To Function)
When you come home from work, typically, you remove those clothes first thing because it causes you to relax and settle into your “I’m Home Function” - You are not going to sleep good in the work clothes, right? So you change it!
Same thing, you cannot receive what God has for you to receive, remaining in your function: You cannot hear Pastor, if you do not turn off the “He’s My Friend” function, or “He’s My Husband” function; it will distort what’s intended for you to hear.
When I meet with Bishop, I am not Pastor, I am Sheep - I am not with him to get a message, but to be filled up, because who else will fill me? Sheep cannot do it, only a Spiritual Father whom God has sent into your life can. . . .
We allow the system of natural, to render us faithless - As the Disciples were frantic in the ship, while Jesus was sleeping, they became fearful, which led them to having no faith - Do you know Him? Have you accept The Holy Spirit? Philippians 4:6–7“6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
As we said Sunday, “Take The When Out Of The Equation” and just settle yourself in The Promises of God!
Did He say He would do it for you?
Then why allow anything else to overtake what God has said!
If you know where your Help comes from. . .
If you know that He is The Provider. . .
He Is The Waymaker
Promise Keeper
1 Peter 5:10 “10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
We got to differentiate, from what is unsettling to me, and lean to Who Settles Me!
Jesus came into the world to become an example for you and for me, so we cannot say it is too difficult, for He suffered way above what we have and has given us the better part of the deal, because 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (NKJV) 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
We cannot be held back by anything, we are only held back because of our own thinking!
God has given you everything you need to do it!
Paul says in Romans 7:13 - 25
13 Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. 14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. 16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
The only way to know the difference, is Through The Holy Spirit, Whom shows us that we can give thanks always, regardless of the circumstances, the trials, the trouble; because I know God is my all in all, I know that - It won’t be long now. . .
You can thank Him in the midst of the struggle!
