Many of us Love God, but we are trapped in wrong thinking

Your Mindset determines how you live your life - Many of of are confused about our relationship with God becasue we suffer with the wrong mindsets (beleifs)

Exampe:

Imperfect father on the perfect father

Daddy issues - so you date deadbeats

You didn’t have a father in your life

Romans 7:22-24 (NLT)

22 I love God’s law with all my heart. 23 But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. 24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?

We are at a constant tug of war

We are called to have the “Mind of Christ” but we slip back into the “Mind of Adam and Eve”

Insecurity - Lack of security,

Your Future - often in relation to one’s future or to one’s present position.

Yourself - This mindset is a beleif in inadequecy - your not good enough.

“What if Im not good enought”

“They won’t like that about me I need to supress it”

“What if I fail at life”

The root of Scarcity (Insecurity) is doubt...

Adam and Eve struggled with this

Genesis 3:1-3 (NLT)

The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” 2 “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. 3 “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’ ” 4 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. 5 “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”

Idea: “God could not be trusted and that she must act on her own to secure her own well-being”

Devil attacks God Identity - King or Dictator

The Lord - “YAHWEH” - Relational/Covenant

God - “ELOHIM” - HIS POWER

You can know of God as long as you don’t have relationship with Him...

Eve struggled with doubt, many of us are in a battling struggling with doubt

Doubt > Insecurity (Nakedness) > Shame = Seperation from God (Identity)

Acting out of insecurity..... Most misrable people are the ones faking it!

Insecurity robs you of your idenity. It robs you from being you

You act different around certain friends

You are one way at church but outside of here you are another

You are scared to go all in with God becuas you are hesitant in letting go of the world

Eve Thought: “What if there is somthing God can’t give me”

Eve Thought: “What if there is somthing the world can offer me that will satisfy me?”

We can get caught in the same mindset

Bad Mindset

I don’t have enough, im not enough

God’s not enough - I need something more

Good Mindset

GOD DIDN’T GIVE IT TO ME, I DON’T NEED IT.

WHAT IF WHAT GOD DOESN’T GIVE YOU IS BETTER THAN WHAT HE HAS GIVEN YOU?

Stop allowing the devil to pull you into this mentality of insecurity

Ephesians 4:21-24 (NLT)

21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

You don’t have to be yoked to a mindset of slavery with the devil and the world as your master

WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST (We will dig into this on July 10th)

We cannot thorw off the mindset of Insecurity if we stay stuck in thought patterns that belong to our flesh

SILENCE INSECURITY BY TURNING UP THE VOLUME OF GOD’S WORD
