To begin with brothers and sisters, it’s a plum pleasing pleasure to present this word before God’s people. This scripture is poised, potent, and power packed with life changing situations circumstances and conditions. Give me a

The story begins back in 1 Kings 16 when the writer of the text explains that King Ahab took over and was now in charge of Israel and Judah. King Ahab was considered the worst king that Israel had ever had. He married Jezebel and she was even worst then him.It had to have a shown down on mount carmel because couldn’t just evil rule and reign among His chosen people.

And so the bible says that Ahab started worshipping the false god Baal Ahab was so rotten until the bible says in 1 Kings 16:32 that Ahab built a temple in Samaria for Baal and ordained 450 prophets for Baal worship and his godless wife Jezebel set up 400 prophets for the false fertility goddess Asherah.

And so it was that Elijah the Tishbite a great prophet for the Lord stood up to King Ahab. Somebody got to stand up to him. Elijah told Ahab that he was completely out of order for causing the whole nation to serve the false god baal. In 1 Kings 17 Elijah told Ahab that there would be no rain for 3 years and 6 months. And everything is going to dry up.

And Church the Lord told Elijah to get out of town and to go to Cherith Brook. The Lord said Elijah Nobody will be able to find you there. And sometimes we need a little me time. Some Me time will help to settle your mind and put you at ease away from the troubles and cares of this world.

And the bible says that God commanded the Ravens (Black Birds) to feed Elijah with bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening. That let’s us know that God will be Bread In a Starving Land. God will make sure we have bread on our tables even if I way out in the country side. And the church said Amen.

Then the bible says that the brook dried up, and God sent the prophet Elijah to Zarephath where a widow was gathering stick to prepare her last meal. It’s a famine in the land. And Elijah says hello sister please give me some water. She said okay, then Elijah said and while you’re at, give me something to eat. She said now that’s where the problem comes in sir. I only have enough meal and oil to feed me and my baby boy. After that then we’re going to wait to die because it’s a famine in the land.

Elijah said sister the meal won’t run dry and the oil will continue to flow for many days. And the bible says they did eat for many days. Church I believe that if God said it, He’s not a man that He should lie… If God said He’ll take care of you then I’m a living witness that God can and will take care of His people.

And when Ahab sees Elijah he insults Elijah and call him a troublemaker. And Elijah fast on his feet and quick thinking said You the troublemaker you and your godless wife Jezebel and I tell you what let’s settle this argument on top of Mount Carmel. 4. Y’all baal worshippers can go first, and I the great prophet Elijah who represents the True and Living God will go second.

Elijah said holler a little louder he can’t hear you. One commentator said some of the prophets of baal started cutting themselves and blood was skeeting out all over the altar but no baal. Then Eliajh started mocking them where’s baal? Elijah holler a little louder maybe something is wrong with his ears, or maybe baal is gone on a vacation somewhere. May be baal is out of town.

Then Elijah said okay boys that’s enough you’ve had your turn now it’s my turn.1 Kings 18:30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.

Then Elijah got 12 stones to symbolize the 12 tribes of Israel. Elijah then prepares the wooden altar .Elijah dressed and prepared the bull for the sacrifice to God and then laid the sacrifice on the altar.

Wait church that was the almost the same thing that the baal worshippers did but Then Elijah does something strange. Yeah 3x Elijah digs a trench all the way around that huge altar. The trench was a foot deep and 18 inches wide.Then he fill up 4 barrels of water and pour them on top of the altar. Elijah poured 4 barrels of water on the altar 3xs.

And And And 39 When all! of the people saw this, they 5th fell down to the ground, saying crying, “The LORD is God! The LORD is God!” Oh Lord Oh Lord Oh Lord 40 Then I heard Elijah saying, Don’t let them get away “Capture the prophets of Baal! Don’t let any of them run away!” and The bible says the people captured all the prophets. Then Elijah led them down to the Kishon Valley, where he killed them. It was a Show Down on Mount Carmel. And God Showed up Show out and Showed Off in front of His people.
