who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
The Gospel delivers…
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,
“According to the will of our God and Father!
My deliverance was according to God’s will
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
Seeking the approval of man can cause the “teacher” to teach in a way that can suit the passions of others…
This is powerful statement… …
“If i were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
Paul admits… at one time I was trying to please man.
For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.
(Read Acts 9:1-15)
But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.
“A chosen instrument of mine”
Chosen with a purpose
“To carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Isreal.”
But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone;
People are talking…
They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
