How do I know I have demonic influence?
When a problem does not yield to medical attention, standard psychological counseling, biblical insight, or the usual prayer requests, it is not unwise to consider the possibility of spiritual attack.
Wagner, Doris M.. How to Cast Out Demons: A Guide to the Basics (p. 27). Baker Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
As we talked about before there has to be a reason for influence.
4 As for me, I said, “O Lord, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you!”
Theologians believe there was an aliment or a torment David was looking to be relieved because of this he had a sin in his life, but thast doesn’t mean every time you sin you’re attacked.
The beautiful thing about Jesus is His grace. His understanding that
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
We do need to be diligent in applying the grace. We also need to be diligent in not sinning because it’s through repeated and unrepented sin that strongholds are made.
Temptation though is a satanic trap. It’s whole point is to get you take some God-given hunger and fill it in a Forbidden manor.
Adam and Eve- Had great community with God. It was God’s desire that they have this relaitonship, but when they went from wanting a relationship to wanting to be God than the God given desire was twisted.
Not only is it Satan’s desire to deceive you, but it’s also your fleshes.
31 times in the bible we are told not to deceive ourselves. We need the Holy Spirit.
1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness
When JEsus went into the wildreness he went in full of the Spirit. We need to spend time with God. wE need to spend time in the Spiritual practices, because something changes.
The Fullness of the Spirit is for living.
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,
20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
How you combat sin in yourself is being full of the Spirit. You can be full of yourself or full of Spirit.
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.
Time with God takes the fullness of the Spirit. This, when mixed with knowledge and understanding creates the power of the Spirit.
You can walk out of church full of the Spirit and not be in the power of the Spirit. When Jesus came out of the desert place
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a report about him went out through all the surrounding country.
The power of the Spirit is for ministry.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Jesus’ ministry didn’t start until the falling of the Holy Spirit
The disciples ministry wouldn’t start until they recieved the Holy Spirit.
It is difficult to do ministry without the Holy Spirit. I believe that why we see more and more proformaces in churches because they rely on the lights and shows instead of the Holy Spirit.
The church that lacks testimonies of healing and deliverance has to rely on performance to draw people in.
I get asked all the time. Pastor how did your church grow? and I tell them—God moved.
The only way to spread Jesus and bring people into true lasting salvation by through the Holy Spirit
11 And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
We study, but the Holy Spirit brings to remembrance.
They biggest Key to Spiritual warfare is the Holy Spirit.
The bible your understanding of it flows from the Holy Spirit.
14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
