CORRUPTION

They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.

Genesis 3 tells the account of Adam and Eve and sin entering the world

CATASTROPHE

Genesis 7-9 tell of the Great Flood

Noah’s Ark - 8 people spared

To be in the ark was to be saved

(Water did not save, flood not a reference to baptism as some like to assert)

CONFUSION

Genesis 11:9 NASB95

Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of the whole earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of the whole earth.

Noah’s descendants were told to fill the earth, they did not, so God scattered them, using language

Undermining God and His Word

The secular world claims people are born good, and that there are no absolute morals

The secular world promotes self as supreme

CHRIST

John 1:12 NASB95

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

At the perfectly right time, Jesus was born, to offer salvation to a sinful world

CROSS

John 19:30 NASB95

Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

Jesus completed His mission, willingly died on the cross as the fully sufficient atoning sacrifice for you and me

And he rose again - completely destroying death

To this point, where we are in history, present day

Look at who Yahweh has shown Himself to be

Creation - glorious, greatness

Corruption - was followed immediately by the promise of a Savior (Genesis 3:15)

Catastrophe - mercy, love, protection shown

Confusion - amazing uniqueness resulted, the world was filled

Christ - the open, demonstrated desire to save ALL

Cross - that point in history, defined by God, which all must turn to and decide

CONSUMMATION

Revelation 21:4 NASB95

and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

Marriages are consummated - after the celebration

For believers, the marriage is present and ongoing

The be shown by a great supper (cultural context of marriage then)

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”

Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ ” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.”

Jesus, at this point (and this mirrors a Jewish wedding - context

The groom has paid for the bride

Left a deposit - Holy Spirit

Returns Home (to Father’s house, next to the Father)

Then He, the bridegroom, calls for the bride

The marriage supper happens after this

This is what’s next

Nothing prophetic to happen before Rapture

Then new heaven, new earth

CLOSING CHALLENGE

Timeline of history - spelled out Bibilcally

Starts with Creation, ends with Creation, Jesus in the middle, the center of it all

Christ - Creator

Christ - Redeemer

Christ - coming again for His bride

Are you part of that?

LIFE - born, die

Somewhere along that timeline, you must be born again, to be invited to that marriage consummation

Repent, change your mind/direction

Trust Christ, personally

When?

Yahweh has revealed Himself over the past 6000 years

His glory, His greatness

So much more to yet be revealed

To those who love Him

Challenge, same as always

Know Him - really know Him

Show that by living for Him - surrendered

Living “ready”
