King James Version (Joshua 1:1-9)
1 NOW after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, 2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. 7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
The Father sent the Son. Christ is the Head of the church. He sent His Spirit to guide us and lead us.

1. God speaks by His Spirit.

King James Version (Hebrews 1:1)
GOD, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
King James Version (2 Peter 1:20-21)
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
King James Version (Hebrews 1:1-2)
GOD, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son
King James Version (John 16:12)
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
When Jesus walked the earth He constantly made this comment.
King James Version (Matthew 11:15)
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
King James Version (Mark 4:23)
23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
Then you see in Revelation, Jesus has died, risen and asecended to the Throne in Heaven! Seated at the right hand of the Father! And He shows up to a disciple by the name of John on the Isle of Patmos.

9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, 11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. 12

7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches

11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;

17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;

29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

2. What we see here is that this truth of the Spirit’s leading and speaking was seen throughout not only the Old but also the New Testament.

King James Version (Acts 13:1-2)
13 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, gwhich had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
King James Version (Acts 16:6-7)
6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, 7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
King James Version (Acts 20:22-23)
22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: 23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

3. If it was for the Old Testament saints and it is for the New Testament Saints then it is for us as a church today.

4. We have a land to take and without complete direction and leading by the Spirit of the Living God we will be in trouble.

Joshua and God’s command.
King James Version (Joshua 1:1-9)
NOW after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, 2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
How? By His Word and His leading.
Joshua had been given the Law but He also heard God speak!

5. The land is filled with strongholds and principalities and powers and people who are bound by these principalities and powers.

There are some things that will never change with regards to taking the land.

6. The key is to know what to do and when to do it!

i. Jericho
Go in and spy out the land
Plant the seeds to people in there
March around and dont make a sound
Shout now
After you preach and march around without making a sound and then shout you have the ability to plow over the enemy.
Souls will be saved.
ii. Ai
You thought you would just march through the land but you dont understand what you are dealing with and where you are dealing with it.
You need to continuously seek me for direction and guidance and then i will, i will, someone say God will. I will make your way prosperous.
You can’t keep going until this is dealt with! This is serious.
Imagine taking a pause in taking the land to deal with something that is in the church.
Everyone knows what the pastor should preach. We could be taking the land and then stop and have to deal with this hard topic. You know why because while we are taking the land the world is always trying to creep into the church. NOTICE WHERE IT COMES FROM. DOESNT COME FROM RAHAB.
Joshua if you had only sought my face you would not have suffered this set back.
Flee and when they come out to chase you because the enemy thinks he has you now. Just like before. You will come up and ambush the city and take it.
Some places are trying to take whats the land but they are not dealing with whats buried under the land.
iii. The 7 churches of Revelation
We need the direction of the Holy Ghost and the leading of the Word of God!
