Reflection

Silence
· As we begin, let us remember that God calls His people, young and old, to be still and know that He is God. Let's take a few seconds to clear our minds, so that we can hear him better.
[5 seconds of silence]
Opening Prayer
(Sunday)
· Father, we rejoice that you have given us a new day to worship you. Today, give us a new song in our heart – a song of praise. (from Psalm 40:3)

Passage
Today’s passage is Psalm 25 verses 4-5:

4 Lord, tell me your ways. Show me how to live.

5 Guide me in your truth. Teach me, my God, my Savior. I trust you all day long.

Exhortation
You were made for a reason. In fact everyone who has ever lived was made by God, in his image, and for his glory. When we walk in his ways and delight in his will we thrive and flourish as humans. But how do we know how he wants us to live? What he wants us to do? Well, he teaches us of course. But we must be willing to learn. The more we obey our Father in heaven, the more we become the people he made us to be. And this is true for our whole lives, because we live in a fallen and broken world we regularly forget the way, and get lost. When this happens there is only one thing to do: call out to God and ask him to save us, to find us, and to guide us in the way we should go. In this Psalm, King David himself is crying our for God’s good guidance and instruction. Even though he feels lost, he trusts God and is willing to listen. He calls God his savior. A savior is someone who saves people from trouble. We all need a savior, in fact the whole world needs a savior who will guide us in truth and show us how to live a good life. John, one of Jesus’ disciples wrote this: “We have seen that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” Jesus, our Savior, said that he was the way, the truth, and the life.
Every day we should walk in the way of King Jesus. We must learn to trust him and to obey his instruction and good guidance. Only then will we become the people we were made to be.
Call to Action: In response to our passage, let’s take a few seconds to quietly reflect on God’s love for us, how he sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
[7 seconds of silence]
Closing Prayer
Let's pray together.
[3 seconds of silence]
Father in Heaven, tell us your ways, show us how to live. As we go about our day guide us in your truth. And as we dwell in your word, teach us, our God, our Savior to trust you all day long. We pray this in matchless name of King Jesus. Amen.
