We need to learn to love what God loves, and learn to hate what God hates, so that we can have sweet fellowship with the LORD and not with the world.

We need to learn by:

1. Dedicating all things to the LORD.

The people of Israel had restrictions on their diet of meat. They couldn’t just decided they wanted to eat meat for the day and kill an animal (ox, goat, lamb). Anything the people of Israel killed had to brought to the tabernacle. I believe there are two reasons for this. Two groups of animals
What’s unique about a peace offering (Lev 7:15-18)
They are not to be using the meat for their own personal gain
Thankful to what God was doin in their life
They were to be fully dedicated to the LORD (v. 7-10)
goat demons (idols of the land),
translated (He-goats)
Duet 32:16, their is demons at work behind the scenes.
That we are not half hearted in our worship God
These were god’s fertility, God and all these gods as vending machines I put in my quarter into any of these vending machines and I get what I want.
I cannot sacrifice any sacrifice to anything I want and receive it
Whoever eats blood the LORD would set His face against him and he was to be cut off.
What’s the reason for this?
God had a purpose for blood
It was a representation of life and a life was given so that the people would be pure and Holy in God’s eyes. This was to be a reminder of them.
Second group of animals (17:13-16)
All the other clean animals they could eat, they just needed to drain the blood from it.
God doesn’t forbid eating the animals that have died naturally or torn by an animal
(Lev 11:39-40) an elaboration on this command
Application:
What is your view of the LORD, is He just the vending machine that get you whatever you want. Because if that is the case we will bring sacrifices (time, money, sleep, family, ourselves to other idols). Is all that you have dedicated to the LORD. (Ill, soccer and basketball). They were not to use anything for their own gain. This is the LORD’s. Blood given for you, was given back through offering and sacrifice.

2. Being separate in God’s design for marriage

A command not to be like the people around, where they came from and where they are going (v. 1-5, 24-30)
They were to be set apart from the nations, and God gives the reason for His commands so that the people would not be like them.
There is a debate about the ethics about the Israelites conquest of the land of Canaan.
Took their land away
People of Israel was supposed to wipe them out (man, women, child)
Isn’t God the God of love (sending His Jesus, John 3:16) these people were rebellion against God and didn’t seek forgiveness. God’s a judge and He will punish.
God held the people to the same standard (ill. two siblings)
This word vomit
Chapter 17 states a complete seperation from other gods, chapter 18 is seperation from the canaanites.
In-between these two sections, we have the sin of sexual imorality,
Kids: you are not going to understand everything I say because I going to try to speak somewhat, but I hope you still receive some knowledge.
Adult you are going to read this passage (v. 6-23). I wouldn’t do any of these things.
Not to have intercourse with a close relative (v. 6-18)
In chapter 12 we talked about how there were time when a women was considered unclean, sin commited, (cermonial), man and a lady were not to lay with her during this time (v.19)
Do not covet and commit adultery.
Who is Molech? (v. 21)
fire god of the ammonites
child sacrifice
ritual (dedication)
profane the name of the LORD your God
Homosexuality is seen as an abomination to the LORD (v. 22)
Mating with a animal is pervesion (not natural)
Application
Completely stay away from these things
Don’t do them
Don’t let your thoughts be impetrated by these awful lust (phil 4:8)
World likes to entertain
They like to keep people interested.
pornargraphy ( is the sin kept in secret) both men and women
Jesus says if a man sees a women and lusts after her, He has commited adultery
don’t take part in these converstations work
Let them know Christian
That as a Christian you will not take part of the jokes or the stories
Protect the next generation from these things (know about them, not in detail, but that they exist)
God created marriage so that one man and one women would come together and have a close relationship.
Marriage advice/ relationship advice
Why are these sins being commited.
They are attracted to the wrong things. They are selfish, they are attracted to what pleases them. What can I get out of this.
God designed marriage to be between one man and women and they are called to be attracvtive to them for the right things and they are to love one another.
We need to understand we are not the ultimate judges
When it comes to the world we need to show that God has set a standard and they broke but that He loves them and has provided a way for them
(ill) do you hate homosexuals
They need the gospel (disgusting us)

3. Having good communion with LORD and His people
