Icebreaker:
Make some microwave popcorn.
For the average bag of microwave popcorn, cook time is usually 2-2.15 minutes.
Have each person take a handful of popcorn.
For every five pieces of popcorn in their hand, each person must name one time when they were impatient for something.
Questions To Tie It In:
Q. Has anyone here ever had non-microwave popcorn?
Q. What’s different about it?
Q. Why was microwave popcorn invented?

Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
Challenge each person in the group to make this verse their memory verse for the week, and when you meet again next time, see who has committed it to memory and can say it! (Think of a fun reward for anyone who can do it!)
Introduce the Patience Jar.
Each time you find yourself being patient this week, I want you to write down what happened on a slip of paper and drop it in the jar.
Next week, we’ll take a look at some of these examples and celebrate how we’re growing in patience together.
Remember, it can be something small like waiting in line without getting annoyed or something bigger like being patient with a friend or family member.
Let’s see how full we can get this jar and encourage each other to grow in this important fruit of the Spirit!"
