Lesson: I Thank God for My Food
Q. How many of you ate breakfast this morning?
Raise your hands if you ate something good for breakfast.
Today I ate Cheerios!
Q. What did you eat for breakfast?
For older groups: Ask if they know why breakfast is called the most important meal of the day
God wants us to thank Him for food
Did you think God for your food today?

Q. Do you know what this is?
Banana!
Q. Do you like bananas?
We need to thank God for bananas
For older groups: Discuss where bananas grow and how they get to the store.

Q. Do you know what this is?
Q. Do you like to eat pancakes?
Pancakes are made from flour that comes from wheat
Pancakes are made from milk that comes from cows
Pancakes are made from eggs that come from chicken
For older groups: Talk about the process of how wheat becomes flour and how milk is collected.
The Bible tells us to give thanks to God for our food
1 Timothy 4:3b–4 (NLT)
But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth. 4 Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks.
We need to learn to give thanks.
Q. Can you say give thanks?
Repeat several times
For older groups: Discuss what it means to be faithful and know the truth.
When we eat good food, God helps us grow strong and happy.
Q. Would you like to stand up and show me how big and strong you are?
Q. Can you show me your muscles?
Talk about how different foods help different parts of our body grow (e.g., milk for bones, fruits and veggies for vitamins).
God wants us to say thank you for our food.
Let’s thank God for the food he gives us to eat.
