Psalms 46: 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Help is a word that most of us have used at some piont in time in our lives. Weather we were asking are teach er to help us at school, weather we asked a friend to help with a situation or weather we were caught up in a situation and we just didnt know what to do. Asking for help can be hard for some people to do especially if your an independant person and you’ve done things on your own. For others asking for help can be a form of weakness, making them vulneraber and exposes their need for help.
The world encourages us to be strong and take matters into our hands and the word of God encourages something different. The word encourages us to be weak cause in our natural physical weakness we will be made strong throught God’s strength. Exposing your need for help allows you to realize that your not perfect and in need assistance. Some people begin to devolp a sense of self righteousness when they get into a position to become self sufficient and forget how they got there. James 1:23–24 “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” This is what self righteousness looks like. You forgot that it was God who allowed you to be in the position you are now in, your forgot where you started from and forgot that that He”ll make you strong in your times of weakness.
Help is the action or idea of providing assistance to someone. If your providing assistant to someone that would make you the helper. Help is a word of action and if your not doing something than your not really helping. Everyone has experienced help and should aim at becoming a helper . A helper is Any person who gives support, aid, or relief to another. As Christians helping other should be a goal of ours. Jesus came into the world not to be served but to serve. NAd our aim must be the same. we have a tendencacy to only help those we know or even worse we only help those that help us. We as Christians follow a different set of rules and these rules goes like this: Regardless of what a person does to you, you must still love them. Regardless of what a person says, you must still love them. Regradless of how you feel towards a person, you must still love them. Matthew 25:35–40 “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” So in other words when you helped them you help Jesus and when you dont help them your actually not helping Jesus. To help someone is to put your feelings aside to help someone else.
Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” This verse helps us to understand wherer are strength and help comes from. Our help and our strength doesnt come from our friends , it doesnt come from family its doesnt come from any great accomplishment youve ever done. Now those things can provide tewmpoary support but your true strength and help only comes from God. Think of how you made it far , it was only God. Think of how he healed you, it was only GOd. Think of how he provided for you , it was only God. Think of how he kept your mind it was only God. Once we realize mwhere our true soucre of help and strength comes from we can tapp into
