2 King 5:10-15

10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. 11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. 13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? 14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
Naaman was a mighty man of Valor! HE was what we would called a decorated soldier! HE hasd so many that praised him so many people talked abut the goodness of he Had all of this but He needed a healing! HE had so much going for him but he had a secret!! HE had Leposary! but He lacked the one thing and even with all of his ablity he couldnt do it !
Leposary is a an infectous disease! DI EASED even the word it self tells you of his state! Even being a solider he wasnt at ease with were he was!! HE wasnt at ease with this diease but it was holding him back!
Many of us are wanting to go higher but somthing is holding us back from total victory! We looke like we got it alltoghter but what holds us back is FLESH!!!
Now leporsay effects the flesh! its a place of separttion! Flesh separates you from GOD! You can never get to wher God is Taking you holding on to wat he HATES !! Now Naaman walked around bandaged up you seen his greatness but he didnt let you see his Flesh! He hid it but we must expose our flesh so that we maybe dilevered ! Remove the cover and go to God and Say LORD I NEED you !!!
SO NOw in the the Severant girl of Naamans wife which was an isrealite girl saw that we needed delivering in an area and told His wife about a man!!! see you need people in your lfe that will tell you the truth !! She say that he needed deliverance SHe say that he needed A MAN !!! ! So she told him about the Prophet ELisha and HE got up and went to see him!! !! He had Joy he Had faith they he beilveed and he went !!
As He was going HE may have thought about how things would do how people would fall down and break thier necks becasue here comes this might man of Valor !!I’m sure that the leading general of a foreign army in hostile territory had quite a contingent of soldiers with him. This was probably a very impressive sight at Elisha’s doorstep. Possibly, Elisha saw this display and realized that Naaman was a proud man who needed to humble himself (James 4:6 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” 1Peter 5:5-6.That might have been part of his decision not to go out and see Naaman personally. BUT HE WAS MET WITH A Message! Also, Elisha had sent for Naaman and made a very bold proclamation about what he could do (2 Kings 5:8). It was important that Naaman not think of Elisha more highly than he should (Romans 12:3).For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
So, by not seeing Naaman, Elisha was taking Naaman’s faith off him and putting it where it should have been—on the Lord.
10And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
t is easy to see how Naaman took Elisha’s actions as being rude. As a rich and very powerful man, I’m sure he was used to having people pay homage to him. I’m also sure this was probably why Elisha treated him the way he did. God resists the proud but gives grace unto the humble (James 4:6). Naaman needed to come to God humbly and receive this miracle on the basis of grace, not because he deserved it. It’s also possible that Elisha didn’t want to see Naaman’s leprosy, that it could have affected his faith.
There was no healing power in the waters of Jordan. This was very simply something to do as an act of faith. Things like this were often done to get the person requesting a miracle to act in faith. It was faith in action that obtained the cure for this leprosy.
It’s important to realize that after Naaman’s healing, Elisha saw Naaman and talked to him (2 Kings 5:15). This proves Elisha wasn’t snubbing Naaman when he refused to see him. He was either making Naaman humble himself or possibly keeping Naaman from putting faith in Elisha.
But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
As stated before, it was not the waters of the Jordan that would heal Naaman. Therefore, it didn’t matter which river was better. That was missing the point. It was the action of faith that produced the miracle.
This also illustrates the truth of Proverbs 13:10 - “Only by pride cometh contention.” It was Naaman’s pride that made him angry. He didn’t think Elisha’s treatment of him was worthy of his position. This made Naaman angry. That pride would have kept him from being healed. Elisha was very wise to act as he did. How many times do we not see people healed because we don’t deal with their pride?
13And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
This was great wisdom on his servants’ part. Naaman was blinded to this wisdom by his pride. We need friends who will point things out to us that we cannot see because of our pride.
14:Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
Now he dipped in the water 7times!!
