Introduction

Greetings…
We are continuing our theme taken from Colossians 3:5 “Put To Death Immorality.”
Last week, we examined euthanasia in light of God’s word and today we will be looking at a very popular immorality, “Gender Ideology” as it is being used and defined today.
So with that in mind let’s start by…

Understanding Gender Ideology

Defining Important Words.

Before we dive into this topic we must first have a better understanding how each of these terms are used “today.”
Gender Ideology: “Gender ideology is the theory that the sex binary doesn’t capture the complexity of the human species, and that human individuals are properly described in terms of an ‘internal sense of gender’ called ‘gender identity’ that may be incongruent with their ‘sex assigned at birth.’ ”
Gender: “the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex”
Gender Fluid: “Gender fluidity refers to change over time in a person’s gender expression or gender identity, or both. That change might be in expression, but not identity, or in identity, but not expression. Or both expression and identity might change together.”
Gender Dysphoria: “(1) A persistent unease with having the physical characteristics of one’s gender, accompanied by strong identification with the opposite gender and a desire to live as or to become a member of the opposite gender. (2) A profound and persistent unhappiness related to one’s physical sex.”
As you can see from these modern definitions the idea of gender has significantly changed from what it once was considered.
So…

How Did We Get Here?

As you can I know sexual perversions such as homosexuality, transgenderism, and the like have been around for thousands of years.
In the bible we read of Sodom, Gomorrah and the other three cities being destroyed by God for sexual sins including homosexuality in Genesis 19.
Jude 7 ESV
7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
One can easily find in ancient cultures this reality throughout history.
As the “World History Encyclopedia points out…
“In ancient Mesopotamia, the priests and priestesses of the popular goddess Inanna (better known as Ishtar) were bisexual and transgender. One of the aspects of the goddess considered most awe-inspiring was her ability to turn men into women and women into men, the power of transformation. Her father-god Enki is said to have created a third gender, ‘neither male nor female’ who became Inanna’s servants, her clergy. What is today referred to as ‘non-binary’ gender was recognized over three thousand years ago as a third gender created by the divine will.”
In America this gender confusion began to explode starting in 2003 with the normalization of homosexuality.
It wasn’t until 1962 that some states started decriminalizing same-sex sexual activity and in 2003, through Lawrence v. Texas, all remaining laws against same-sex sexual activity were invalidated. In 2004, beginning with Massachusetts, states began to offer same-sex marriage, and in 2015, through Obergefell v. Hodges, all states were required to offer it.
In 2015 when homosexual marriage was made “common” or “allowed everywhere” a man in Florida went to court to marry is computer.
In America’s psychiatric past secular psychologist tried to correct gender dysphoria with therapy to reduce the feelings of being in the wrong biological body.
They would try to bring into harmony one’s mind and body with varying levels of success but it wasn’t a sure thing, especially without God.
In 2015 1/3 of those that identified as trans attempted suicide that year and those that identify as trans are two times more likely to try suicide than homosexuals.
This is a large reason the secular psychologists & medical community changed course to try and stop the suicide rate amongst trans individuals.
The problem is this did not stop the issue it increased the suicide rate.
Sweden did a long-term follow-up of transsexual persons who underwent sex reassignment surgery and this was the studies conclusion.
“Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population. Our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group.”

Summary

Obviously this has come to a boiling point in America because of the amount of people pushing for kids to be surgically mutilated or chemicals and hormones introduced to them that will permanently hurt their bodies even if they realize they made a mistake.
This is why so many countries are starting to make it illegal to do such procedures or give such drugs to kids such as the UK, Sweden, Norway and other.
What is…

God’s Design

Male & Female.

God made mankind in his image.
Genesis 1:27 ESV
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
God is the one that gives each and every person life at conception.
Job 27:3 (ESV)
3 as long as my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils
God is the one that is involved in our development in the womb.
Psalm 139:13 ESV
13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
Job 10:11 ESV
11 You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
God is the one that continues to watch over us from birth to death.
Proverbs 15:3 ESV
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
If this is the case then why are there physical and mental deformities even in the womb?
God allows for these things from a chance perspective.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 (ESV)
11 Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
God allows for these from a sin perspective.
Joshua 24:15 (ESV)
15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
So then what about the people that say they were born in the wrong bodies?

Does God Make Mistakes?

No, God does not make mistakes.
Matthew 5:48 (ESV)
48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Deuteronomy 32:4 (ESV)
4 “The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.
So why is transgenderism becoming so popular.
There is no doubt that some people are have a mental disorder defined as we noticed earlier as “gender dysphoria” wherein a medial diagnosis is given that has a root cause in abuse as more and more studies are finding.
In the article “Disparities in Childhood Abuse Between Transgender and Cisgender Adolescents” we read…
“In a nationwide online sample of US adolescents, TGAs [transgender adolescents] had elevated rates of psychological, physical, and sexual abuse compared with heterosexual CGAs [Cisgender adolecents]. Risk for psychological abuse was highest among TGAs assigned female at birth. In the future, researches should examine how more frequent experiences of abuse during childhood could contribute to disproportionate mental health problems observed within this population.”
For context the study found that 73% of TGAs reported psychological abuse, 39% physical abuse, and 19% sexual abuse.
The main reason, however, that transgenderism has skyrocketed is because of what has been around forever in societies from the beginning i.e., “social cotangent” other wise known as “peer-pressure.”
Youth in particular are often the ones that get caught up more frequently in peer-pressure and so this is why we are seeing such a “surge” in gender fluidity.
In other words, the more popular it is to identify as some gender other than what you were born with the more we will see it rise.
This is why as parents we must be all the more vigilant to make sure we know the trends, who our children are hanging out with, and be on top of it.
1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV
33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

Summary

God is perfect and God loves his creation as were physically created.
He did not make a mistake.

Conclusion

If we are going to have an influence on those confused about their gender we must help them see that God loves them (John 3:16).
That God wants them to be in heaven with him for an eternity (1 Timothy 2:4).
But to do that they must accept God’s version of themselves and live for him (Matthew 7:21).
Invitation
Isaiah 59:1–2 ESV
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
Philippians 2:6–7 ESV
6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
Romans 10:17 ESV
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Hebrews 11:6 ESV
6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Acts 17:30 ESV
30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,
Matthew 10:32–33 NKJV

2 Thessalonians 1:8 ESV
8 in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15:1–4 ESV
1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
Romans 6:3–5 ESV
3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
1 John 1:7 ESV
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
