Introduction: Last night, friends, we considered that the Holy Spirit is our number 1 ally in the fight against the lies of the enemy/the devil/Satan. Tonight, I want for us to consider a truth from a line in our song.

Finish the line for me, “You’ve got to stand up for …”

“Truth,” that’s right.

Sing that line with me, “You’ve got to stand up for truth When satan is lying, Stop (X6)”

Friends, what does it mean to stand up for something?

Usually, we think of protecting someone else who is weak and vulnerable.

However, is Truth, God’s Truth, vulnerable and weak?

No!

It’s powerful and able to combat the lies of the enemy, the wicked one, Satan.

So, when we say the phrase, “stand up for truth,” we really mean something else.

What we really mean is that you need to use and side with truth, especially when Satan is lying.

What this demands from us is that we know God’s Word through which the Holy Spirit works.

Psalm 119:11 “11 Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.”

Conclusion: Friends, to combat the lies of the enemy, you’ve got to know the truth of God’s Word by reading, studying , and gather with others to hear it preached and taught.
