Crime stats.
Walking around with valuables on display.
Taking them into the streets, dangerous places.
You will lose them.
What is a safe?
A Safe is an object that secures its contents from the dangers of outside world.
If there is an item that is important, valuable and precious to you - if you want to keep it safe from thieves - the best place to keep it is within the boundaries of the steel safe.
Placing the item, next to, on top of, even underneath the safe - will NOT guard it.
You MUST keep it IN the safe.
Amen
Safes, as we know them, guard valuable and precious MATERIAL items. Things like Gold or Silver.
-
Today I want to remind you all of another, very powerful “safe” that we have.
This safe functions very much like other safes in its operation:
It guards. It keeps. It Protects: Whatever is placed within it.
However, this safe is also completely unique.
This safe is not made of steel or concrete.
This safe is not going to keep temporary material things safe.
However the things which are able to be placed within its protective walls are absolutely, unequivocally, most assuredly, uncompromisingly - so safe, so secure, that not even the full might of Hell can EVER break in and take it from you.
What is this impregnable safe made of?
Durasteel? Titanium? Adamantium? Vibranium?
No, by comparison those things are mere tissue paper.
This safe is made of the most powerful material in the universe?
The Blood of Jesus.

The Warning:

A thief scouts a property he wants to rob, checking the walls, gates, security..
Here is your wake up call:
Your life, your marriage, your faith, your morals, your mind and your heart are all being scouted by the greatest thief, the most savage murderer, the most prolific adulterer of all time....
1 Peter 5:8 NLT
8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
John 8:44 NLT
44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Luke 22:31 NLT
31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat.
Satan is such a good thief because as the god of this world system he has the key and combination to every lock and blinds us to His trespassing.
2 Corinthians 4:4 NLT
4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
The only safe and secure place that he simply CANNOT gain access to is Heaven.
Matthew 6:19–20 NLT
19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.
We have a grantee from God Himself that whatever is placed in His hands is absolutely secure.
-
God has promised to protect your inheritance of salvation.
1 Peter 1:3–4 NASB95
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
In fact, God has promised to protect your very salvation itself!
1 Peter 1:5 NASB95
5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
-
Satan's favorite thing to steal always seems to be our emotional and mental well being.
Indiana Jones exchange.
Joy - Sadness
Hope - Fear
Contentment - Anxiety.
God will protect your heart and mind if you place them in His care.
Philippians 4:7 NLT
7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
-
Another of Satan's favorite places to steal is within Marriage.
His first interaction with humans was to get between the husband and the wife.
Why?
Ecclesiastes 4:12 NLT
12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
What other things are we supposed to put in the safe of God’s keeping?
I could go on and on but I’m not going to, instead let me just say this:
Whatever God has told US to guard - is what must be placed in His safe.
Luke 12:15 NLT
15 Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”
Luke 21:34 CSB
34 “Be on your guard, so that your minds are not dulled from carousing, drunkenness, and worries of life, or that day will come on you unexpectedly
2 Timothy 1:14 NLT
14 Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.
2 Peter 3:17 NLT
17 You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing.
1 John 5:21 CSB
21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.

How do we put these things into the Safe?

This leads us to the big question of the hour.
How do we actually place these things within the safe keeping of God?
Here is the “access code”:
2 Timothy 1:12 NLT
12 That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.
To “entrust” something to God you have to hand it over to God.
I cannot say that i entrust my watch to this safe if i don't put my watch inside the safe.
Likewise:
We entrust things to God by operating them WITHIN the Biblical PRINCIPLES of them.
ie:
God will protect my marriage if I entrust my marriage to Him. The way I entrust my marriage to Him to be obedient in the Principles of biblical marriage.
NB:
A safe cannot protect an item that is NOT placed within it.
Likewise God cannot Guard that which is not place within Him.
EG:
God has commanded that husbands love their wives as Christ loves the Church and that wives submit to their husbands as the church submits to Christ.
In other words: God cannot protect a marriage where disrespect and arrogance are present.
Such a marriage is not in the safe keeping of God.
-
God has commanded regarding our minds:
Philippians 4:8 NLT
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Such a mind is and will be protected by the power of God.
However if your mind is filled with thoughts of sin, lust, anger and bitterness - Well that mind is not “in the safe” and cannot be protected.
-
With regards to our Faith God says:
Hebrews 12:1–2 NLT
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
So a faith that always seeks after Christ and always tries their best to emulate Jesus in every situation - such a faith is guarded and secure.
But a faith that is lazy, neglectful and careless… Well:
Hebrews 2:1–3 CSB
1 For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away. 2 For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment, 3 how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation had its beginning when it was spoken of by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
A faith that is neglected is a faith that Satan will rob.
