Biblical Roles
Families are named after the father (Eph. 3:14-15).
What does it mean to lead like Jesus (Jn. 13:5-15)?
What does it mean to submit like the church (1 Pet. 3:1-7)?

Pressing Further
The reason our churches don’t look like households is because our families don’t look like households.
We need to be looking for the sojourners (the para oikos) and bring them into the oikos.
Are we working to be the picture God paints of the church?
Be the start of that culture.

Set Your House in Order
Eph. 6:10ff is not a contextual break.
People want to know what to do about all of the insanity out there.
Build houses, plant gardens, have babies and raise them well (Jer. 29:4-11).
When he calls, everything we are doing should flow naturally to the next thing.
Just as when Christ came, those living by the Law should have recognized the fulfillment of the Law.
Those building Godly homes should long for and recognize the fulfillment of those homes.
This is how we go to war.
