Introduction: Friends, we looked last night at how God’s unchanging character is the basis for for His establishment of what is true. Tonight, we’re going to consider that we need the truths that we’ve looked at this week.

Friends, what word in our song refers to difficulties and hardships that one can face?

Trials.

During those times of difficulty, you will be tested as to whether or not you believe God’s Word or the lies that the enemy will tell you.

What is it that you will do in those moments when it’s really hard to believe God’s Word because you’re hurting or suffering?

This, friends, is where we have to arm ourselves for spiritual warfare.

We read in Ephesians 6:17 “17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

What is the Word of God compared to in this verse?

A sword.

The Bible is called the Sword of the Spirit for a reason.

I’s the weapon of choice by the Spirit to combat in spiritual warfare.

If this is His weapon of choice, then it must be the best weapon to employ!

Conclusion: Friends take what you have learned this week from God’s Word and use it to combat the lies of the enemy in the power of the Spirit.
