Introduction: Friends, you’ve learned so many wonderful things about God’s everlasting love that you can firmly believe in that saves you from sin and will protect you both now and in the future. Tonight, let’s consider how we respond if we have received this love.

In the chorus, we sing the phrase, “It’s the kind of love that we need to …”

“[To] show,” yes, that’s right!

Have you ever done “Show and Tell” at your school?

You bring something to class that’s important to you.

You also let everyone see it by putting it in front of them.

Sometimes, you can even let others touch it by passing it around.

Friends, there are two things in God’s Word that we can do to demonstrate that we have received God’s love.

1 John 5:2 “2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.”

You see, friends, if we love God because He loves us, we should want to do the things that please Him the most!

Specifically, we look to the Bible to teach us the things that we should do to please Him.

Ex. honor and obey our parents.

Also, friends, if we love God because He loves us, then we should show that love by loving others around us.

Treating others with kindness and respect.

Helping others when they have a need.

Offering comfort when someone is sad.

Sharing encouragement when someone needs to do what pleases the Lord.

Conclusion: Friends, I have loved learning with you this week and I pray that you will take the things that you have learned about God’s love and share those with others.
