God, I Need Help!

Psalm 46:1–3 NKJV
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

God is our Refuge

We all go through tough times.
Where is our safe place in the day of trouble?
Psalm 91:1–2 NKJV
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

God is our Strength

Our strength is found in our weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:7–10 NKJV
And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Philippians 4:13 NKJV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

God is a very present Help in time of trouble.

Troubles come to us as believers.
John 16:33 NKJV
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Times of trouble come. Paul refers to them as the “evil day” (Ephesians 6:13).
Troubles are “trials”, not “verdicts”.
Troubles cause us to seek God for His help.
Psalm 77:2 NKJV
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; My soul refused to be comforted.
God is a VERY present help
He is a great and exceeding help.
God is a very PRESENT help
He is abundantly available.
God is a very present HELP
We are not alone.
Marriage: It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper comparable for him (Genesis 2:18)
God does not leave us alone. He sent us the Helper, the Holy Spirit.
John 14:16–18 NKJV
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

God is our Help: We will not fear.

Psalm 46:2–3 NKJV
Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
We must get our eyes off of the trouble, and look to God.
Psalm 121:1–2 NKJV
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
