10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Focus Verse:
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

… The Church is about relationship.
… The Church is about relationship.
in the first place we are in relationship with Christ.
in the first place we are in relationship with Christ.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
…Next we are called to relationship with others (in the Church.)

10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
…Part of relationship and encouragement.
…Part of relationship and encouragement.
of course the verse above teaches us to encourage one another.
there is a lot in the modern day Church about encouragement, and there should be, no one likes the person that the only time a person wants to have a private conversation with you is when they want to correct you.
however, encouragement that never leads to real correction is not relationship.
…Accountability is also a form of encouragement. It means that the person pointing my sin or shortcoming believes me to be better than what I am walking in.

15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
Go it alone.
take someone with you.
take it to the church.
1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
restoration is the key to accountability.
restoration and rising in holiness is the point of it all.
2. Being equipped to do the work is another reason we are called to be a Church.
2. Being equipped to do the work is another reason we are called to be a Church.
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
Apostles.
Prophets
Evangelist
Pastors
Teachers
3. We are called to discipleship.
3. We are called to discipleship.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
