(DISCIPLINE = Freedom)
- Reading God word if you aren’t disciplined in it, doesn’t need to be some long drawn out thing
- it shouldn’t become an obligation
but when we read Gods word we should develop a discipline starting small
do you think pro athletes become pro over night ?
No they don’t
they have developed a discipline over years and years of practice
Gods word is not an easy thing to learn to read
Sometimes when i read passages , i gotta read them 3-4 times just to understand it if i do
its something we have to developed in us
its something that we should be devoting to the Lord !
Philippians 2:12 “12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;”
working out our salvation is is literally physical and mental
No one is asking you guys to sit down and draw up a study every day
God just wants a relationship with you and the way we develop that is by spending time in His word
He speaks to us through his word
How do you get to know someone ?
How do you start to trust someone ?
Again you get to Know them !
So my question to you guys is what can you do to give some time to the Lord
to continue your relationship with Him outside of camp ?
camp is gone until next year so what are you going to do about it ?
God gives us the ability to chose wether or not we want to spend time with Him
at camp its easy to be focused because most distractions are eliminated
so just think about some of these things and write it down on paper and we can talk about it
Hebrews 11:6 “6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
