What Does Your Image Say.

Introduction

When you look at a Picture you can always look and caption a picture off of what you see. You can take a picture and give an explanation off of what you see. Many have pictures that we have taken in our lives that speak through the image that was captured. So I ask you today what do your images say about you. There is a quote that says that a Picture is worth a thousand words. This basically means that your picture can sometimes speak louder than your words.

Now I know in this day in age we love to take our pictures and be fly with our fits. However before we post our Picture let's examine before we post. Because we are living in a day and age now where people will judge you off a look and image rather than getting to know you. that is why you have people coming to you and approaching you the wrong way because your Images give off something. Yeah you know that picture with your pants sagging and middle finger up now people think you are a thug. Or that Picture with being half naked and you wondering why the young men are approaching you the way they do, Or that Picture with the blunt and bottle and people are calling you all type of names thats not your name. This is happening because the image that we are giving off is speaking louder than our words.

And if the truth be told we have had some images that we are not so proud of and they have had others to believe that we are some type of bad person based off of the image. However its only their right to believe that because as I stated before a picture is worth a thousands words. We have had words spoken over us because of our pictures. Not only that but we have suffered, could be suffering, and not only that but on the way to be in suffering because of a image that spoke words. I Just need a few people who can be truthful and say I’ve suffered because of some of my images. I have lost some friends, some opportunities, some jobs, all because of an image. We can’t blame nobody else but ourselves because that is what we decided to Portray. Just look at somebody close to you and tell them watch what image you post…..

Now as we look here at our text today we see here this is the beginning. God here has formed and created the Earth. He has separated light and darkness he has made the fruits and Vegetables He has made animals and now we get here to the 26th verse and God Notices something. He Notices he has the separation between light and darkness, He has the the fruits and vegetables and the plants and trees. He has animals but he needed something else.

Church we get here to the 26 & 27 verse and God says Let us make human beings in our image to be like us. Or Other translations say in his image and likeness This tells me That God had a conversation with Himself His son and the Holy spirit and decided we need someone here on the earth so let us create someone in our image. Not only do we want to create them in our image but we want them to have dominion over the things of the earth. So God created human beings in his own image. He created male and female.

Now looking at this I began to ponder and ask the question if God made us in his Image does God look like us? As I ponder on this I found out that even with being created in his image may not mean we look exactly like GOD but what it does mean is that their should be a Resemblance of God in US. Thats my first point is that In your Image you should Resemble God.

Many times in this life we wonder why we are Judged and talked about a certain way is because we don’t resemble God. Naturally and physically we should be showing that we have a resemblance of God. I’m not saying you got to wear a suit and tie or a dress all the time. But if we are a christian there should be something about our lifestyle from the natural and Physical eye that shows and says we Resemble GOD. So my question to you today is can your peers tell by the way you are living that you Go to church and are a child of God. What does your lifestyle say. How are you on your Job, How are you in your school, How are you in your community or in your neighborhood. Can other say that you are following the Matthew 5:16

Are you being a shining light in this dark and evil World. Are you following Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

We must follow the Word and acknowledge him because if we begin to lean to our own understanding, abilities, and emotions we will be portraying images that are not of God but if We acknowledge him he will Guides us down the right path. When you ask the Lord to guide you that is how you resemble God. I Just need 4 or 5 people and i’ll make 6 that can say Lord I need you to lead me so I can Portray the right image, because if you don’t lead me I’m going to act up in school, if you don’t lead me I’m going to disobey my parents, If you don’t lead me I’m going to cuss these people out. If you don’t lead me I’m going to go off on these people job. Lord if you don’t lead me I’m going to hurt somebody. Lord Lead me so I can Resemble you. The saints use to sing a song Lead Me guide me along the way For Lord if you lead me I will not stray. Not only that but they sung Order my steps in your Word. Lord I need you to Order my steps so I wont step in the something I don’t need to be in But order my steps so i can step in the places you have called me to be so I can resemble you.

We must not only resemble God Naturally and Physically but spiritually we must Resemble him in characteristics. Well how do we resemble God Spiritually? Im Glad you asked you resemble him spiritually by having characteristics like him. You might ask what are his characteristics. His characteristics is the Fruit of the spirit. When you Resemble God you should have

Love Meaning the Love of Christ

Joy meaning that you have Joy unspeakable Joy. This Joy that I Have the World didn’t give it and the World can’t take it away.

Peace having peace in the midst of situations and storms to know that God will Take care of You

Patience to be able to hold fast and be long suffering the bible declares that the sufferings of this present time can’t be compared to the glory that is to come. Patience in a suffering season to know That All things work together for the Good them that Love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.

Kindness and Goodness Helping and being nice to others

Faithfulness Staying true to God and consistent with Him

Gentleness, you have to remain in submission to God and humble.

Lastly Self Control we must understand we need self control to resemble God.

We must have these things in order to resemble God. While on this christian journey we need to have the fruit of the spirit because of not we will fall into the temptation of the enemy. So we must have the fruit of the spirit.

Not only the fruit of the spirit but the whole armor of God because in the book of Ephesians 6:11

Ephesians 6:11 NLT

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

Tells us to put on every piece of God armor so when the enemy comes you will be able to stand against the plots and schemes and strategies of the Devil.

So we must Resemble God.

Secondly Your life Image should show that you have Authority.

If we look in the text God says that we have made man in our image and likeness but not only that but I want man to have dominion and authority.

It was established that man would have dominion and authority over the things of the earth but that was messed up as we see in the 3rd chapter of genesis when Man who had Authority did what God had told him not to do. But I heard a preacher say this once and He said “Adam I don’t know why you sinned” But then he went on to say after posing that Question he said I Don’t know why you sinned but I’m glad you did. This is because if it had not been for Adam sinning in the garden Jesus would've never came and I Just want to Pause for the cause right here and see is there anybody here that can praise God because Adam messed up and God had a plan cause he knew Adam was going to mess up and he sent Jesus who Showed up and fixed what Adam Messed up.

So we are here and I’m sure you are asking how do we have authority still even with Adam messing up. Well let me tell you even though Adam messed up Jesus christ came and saved us. With him saving us and when we accept him to come into our lives we are empowered with the Holy spirit that lives down on the inside of us. I May not have the authority that was given in verses 26-28 but I do have the Authority of the Holy spirit Living down on the inside of me. That’s why the bible tells me Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the World. When you realize that you have the Holy spirit working down on the inside of you, you realize that you have authority. So you can walk with your head high and chest out because you have authority to not deal with the enemies plots and schemes because Christ has given us authority because he has already defeated the enemy for us with his redemptive work.

Is there anybody here that knows they have authority. No the drugs can’t get me, No the lying can’t get me, No the alcohol can’t get me, No depression can’t get me, No the grief can’t get me.

You want to know why because I have authority. Just look at a neighbor and tell them I have authority. I Have authority over the enemy, the saints of old would simply say Satan I command you in the name of the Lord to drop your weapons and flee God has given me authority to walk all over thee. I have authority. Just look down your row and tell your Row walk in Your Authority. Don’t be afraid for God has not given you a spirit of fear but of power love and a sound Mind. You Have Authority.

Finally My friends your life image should Portray The Resemblance of God, Portray the authority of God. And Finally Your Life image should have a comment from God. Come here cause you looking at me crazy but this was Good to me. The Text says in verse 31 if I May paraphrase is that God looked back over what he had made and said it was very Good. In this first chapter if genesis We see God complimenting his Work.

In verse 12 he said it was good in verse 18 he said it was good, in verse 21 he said it was Good in verse 25 he said that it was good but in verse 31 after he created man in his image he said it was very Good.

And thats all I come by to ask you today can God look at your image of your Life and say thats very good.
