Today we are going to look at some of the promises that are in the Bible for us. God is a good God and His promises give us the hope and faith wee need to keep on keeping on! Let’s take a look at some of the promises found in the Bible.
10 Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.
9 Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.”
God Promises to Be With Us!
God Promises to Be With Us!
God is always there with us every step of the way in life. He goes with us through the storms of life. Because we are not facing life’s obstacles alone, we don’t have to live in fear and be dismayed. We can live courageously because we know He has promised to be with us.
18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
God Promised Us Salvation Through Jesus!
God Promised Us Salvation Through Jesus!
This is the best promise ever. You and I are promised eternal life with God because He promised it to those that receive Jesus! Because He loved us so much He sent Jesus to pay the price for our sins, which by the way we couldn’t pay, and made us white as snow to Him. We are now in right standing with Him.
31 Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?
32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
14 You’ve so graciously provided for my essential needs during this season of difficulty. 15 For I want you to know that the Philippian church was the only church that supported me in the beginning as I went out to preach the gospel. You were the only church that sowed into me financially, 16 and when I was in Thessalonica, you supported me for well over a year.
17 I mention this not because I’m requesting a gift, but so that the fruit of your generosity may bring you an abundant reward. 18 I now have all I need—more than enough—I’m abundantly satisfied! For I’ve received the gift you sent by Epaphroditus and viewed it as a sweet sacrifice, perfumed with the fragrance of your faithfulness, which is so pleasing to God!
19 I am convinced that my God will fully satisfy every need you have, for I have seen the abundant riches of glory revealed to me through the Anointed One, Jesus Christ!
God Promises Provision!
God Promises Provision!
One of life’s most stressful things is making ends meet. Of course if you have ample finances coming in this might not be you. However, not everyone is in that situation. Nevertheless, as believers, God supplies our needs as we commit to serving Him well by following His lead and becoming a giver. When we follow God’s plan, He supplies what we have need of.
5 Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
6 Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.
7 Don’t assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
8 Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
God Promises to Guide Our Lives!
God Promises to Guide Our Lives!
Notice that as we trust Him, He tells us what paths to take. One thing that I know with God, He’s not impressed with what we know based on our experiences. He is only impressed when we do things His way. When we make something out of our lives, professionally, financially, ministerially, we can either say how much WE worked to make it happen. How much hardship we have endured and so on. Or we can say what really happened. God guided us, and strengthened us, and showed us what to do so it’s none of us and all of Him. He promises His guidance, if we trust Him with everything we have.
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
3 You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
God Promises His Peace!
God Promises His Peace!
This is not the kind of peace brought on by the right person in office, or the fact that we live in a country that gives us freedom. No this is the peace that only comes from God. It’s the peace that passes our understanding. It’s the peace that comes from inside no matter what the outside looks like. It’s the peace you cannot get anywhere in the world. It only comes from God. When all hell is breaking loose, wed have God’s peace because His promise is true!
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
God Promises Comfort!
God Promises Comfort!
When we are weary and have some pretty heavy burdens we are carrying, God will give us rest! He will yoke up with us and make our burdens light and will strengthen our weariness. He is our comfort!
21 Martha said to Jesus, “My Lord, if only you had come sooner, my brother wouldn’t have died. 22 But I know that if you were to ask God for anything, he would do it for you.”
23 Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise and live.”
24 She replied, “Yes, I know he will rise with everyone else on resurrection day.”
25 “Martha,” Jesus said, “You don’t have to wait until then. I am the Resurrection, and I am Life Eternal. Anyone who clings to me in faith, even though he dies, will live forever. 26 And the one who lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
God Promises Us Eternal Life!
God Promises Us Eternal Life!
Do we really believe this? If we do we will have a stress free life. We won’t look at the things that bring us sadness, like losing a family member or a close friend, the same because there is a more real world in the unseen realm, where God is, than there is in the world we can see.
