Lord Please Forgive Me

Lord please Forgive me. I confess that I have done wrong. Psalm 130:3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

To begin with brothers and sisters Christian Friends, Well Wishers, and Saints of God I first of all want to say Lord I thank You. You’ve been mighty 3x good to me. Then Lord Please Forgive me of all my sins. I confess that I have done wrong. I have sins of Omission, Commission, and Submission. And the writer knows that he’s in trouble.

Let’s read verses 1&2 together “1 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. 2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications”. I looked at this powerful potent passage in verses 1&2 and I discovered that the person in the text is saying “I am in great trouble,so I call out to you. When we are in trouble we ought to call on the Lord. I’d rather call on God that to believe in fake phony fuddy duddy news cycle that are in search of outrageous headlines. I don’t need a headline when I’m in trouble I need the Lord. When I’m in trouble I don’t need to drink myself half to dead I need the Lord. When I’m in trouble I don’t need to go to people who can’t help me get out of my trouble, I need to call on the Lord who is able to do any thing but fail. yes the writer calls on God in times of trouble. Then in verse 2 “Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. “ And that means When I call on My God He hears me. I don’t know about nobody else but when I call on my God He hears me. That’s a bold statement. And only a prayer warrior can make such a claim. That means that your prayer life got to be in order. I pray in the morning I pray all through out the day I pray in the evening and sometimes late in the midnight hour I Pray to my God and He hears me. As I was come to terms with this text in Psalms 130:2 I realized that I not only need God to hear my prayer but I need God to attentively listen to my prayer for help.And that means that we have to be intentional with out prayer. Be specific with your prayer. Watch this Lord take care of Gail while she’s in the hospital in Thibodaux General. If you want God to answer your prayer you got to be specific that what supplicating and meditating on our prayers are all about.

And so the character in this text acknowledges his sins. He’s making a confession.It’s got a lot of other stuff going on all around in the text but this part of it struck a nerve. And brothers and sisters Have you noticed in verse 3 that the word says “If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?” That is a confession. Wait nah the NCV says 3. LORD, if you punished people for all their sins, no one would be left, Lord.

I said Oh Lord nobody is going to make it to heaven if you punish everybody for their sins. Because the man in the text is a righteous man who is confessing that he has sinned. Let me teach you something.Can I teach you something? “Confession must always come before absolution”. Before you’re going to get any relief from God you have to come clean with Him.

Tell your neighbor: Come Clean with Him.

Because the bible says“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.”

The bible says If we try to cloak our sin, “if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ” And by the way God ain’t gon pardon no prideful pitiful unpious soul. Nothing will come from God with all that lying. Tell your neighbor: “Stop lying to yourself” Because we can’t lie to God . Therefore,we ought to plead guilty because we are guilty. Forgiveness is serious. And the writer of Psalms 130 declares that he knows that he’s in trouble. He knows he’s messed up. He knows he’s a wreck on wheels. He knows that his life is like a ticking time bomb full of sins ready to blow up at anytime. He says Lord Please Forgive and consider this. LORD, if you punished people for all their sins, no one would be left.

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Everybody in here needs Forgiveness. because verse 4 says “But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared”. Let me say this that I’m so glad that Jesus is my Lord and my Savior and here’s why

1. When we look at Psalms 130:4 we see Jesus Being a Whisper of Hope. Everybody in here needs a whisper of hope sometimes, And hope is telling us that everything is going to be alright. Tell your neighbor: It’s going to be alright.Because there is Forgiveness with God. You’ve got have a whisper of Hope when your demons start talking to you.

For example: when you can’t sleep at night that means that your soul is troubled. That means that you ought to Read the word of God and it will comfort your soul. Because greater is He that lives in my Soul than the devil in hell that’s trying to rob me of my peaceful sleep. Here’s another one

For example: Your heart is beating faster and faster and faster that’s when you got say hey hey hey Dear God grandma used to say you’re a heart fixer.. and a mind regulator Fix it Jesus fix it like you said you would. Because there is forgiveness with God.The fiends of hell may rise up against you but even in that I’m confident that God will be my help in times of need because there is forgiveness with God. Tell your neighbor I’ve got forgiveness with God.

I’m not saying that you haven’t had any set backs, and doubts but There is Forgiveness with God. I had doubts when I first started out but not no mo. You can’t make me doubt Him because I know too much about Him Because there is Forgiveness with God yeah and then I made a placid observation.

2. You Did Wrong and you know it. I did wrong so long until people who knew me said You a preacher… And I said But The word of God said But there is forgiveness with God. Listen don’t let people hold you hostage to your past. A certain woman in the New Testament was a prostitute and she came in and started crying and washing Jesus feet with her tears and then wipe Jesus feet with her hair. The Pharisees said don’t he know who she is and Jesus said daughter thy sins be forgiven. Psalms 130:4 says But there is forgiveness with God. I don’t care how bad our flesh dominated us with our drinking our smoking or our running women etc or you women running men,,, guest what Somebody say what Rev? “!If you finish with all that? There is forgiveness with God.. And the church said Amen. Then I saw something else in the text.

3. Placid Observations. Stay with me I while make the apologetic argument that “there is forgiveness with God”. I said Lord Please Forgive me. yeah 3x and then I made a placid observation. Watch this

I said Lord if you forgave Judas you can forgive me. Judas betrayed you for 30 pieces of silver.

I said Lord if you could forgive Peter who deny you 3 times before the rooster crowed then cuss people out about it, then Lord you can forgive me.

I said Lord if you could forgive Saul for persecuting Christians and then Lord you turn around and made Saul turn into Paul who became the second best preacher of the New Testament scriptures then Lord you can forgive me.

I said Lord if you could forgive David who had Uriah killed just to keep him extra marital affair with Bathsheba a secret , Then Nathan the Prophet came and told him about himself and David said Lord create in me a clean heart oh God renew within me the right spirit and God!!!! forgave him, So Lord if you can forgive David you can forgive me.

I said Lord if you could forgive 10 of Joseph’s no good brothers who sold him as a slave to the Egyptians merchants for 20 pieces of silver and then deceived and fool their father old man Jacob that his favorite so was dead! and by the way, That like to kill Jacob too. and then Lord you made them same boys bow down to Joseph in Egypt just like Joesph’s dream said they would and Lord you forgave them, So Lord you can forgive me too. Because your word says there is forgiveness with God.

I’m just making a Placid Observation here. Lord if you did it for one you can do it for another. Because your word says that you’re no respect of Persons. Again because there is forgiveness with God.

Tell your neighbor: God will forgive you. Let me talk to you for a while God will have Mercy on us. God has an eye of pity while we are going through out pitiful moments, while we are going through our miserable messes, while we are going through our nasty notions and while we are going though our devilish dilemmas.

Then 4. Lastly, Right Now Forgiveness I look up the etymology of the word forgiveness. The word Etymology is simply the study of the meaning of a word. In this case it’s the word Forgiveness. The original Hebrew vernacular doesn’t not differentiate between the tenses in the verb. What you mean by that Pastor? That means that when God had the writer to write Psalms 130: 4 He was speaking in all tenses. Meaning I forgave your past sins. Because Jeremiah say the Lord cast our sins behind his back. It also means that God forgives us our sins right now And I know I’m right about it because Jesus while he was dying Jesus on the cross stop dying and told a thief today thou shalt be with me in paradise. Ain’t God alright. Then finally Forgiveness is for the future because the word of God say If we sin we have an advocate and His name is Jesus who is Just and is able to forgive us from our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Preach Rev Allen. The theme text says But there is forgiveness with God so that we can respect you. Let’s read Psalms 130:4 together 4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. Listen when we have respect for God we honor God we reverence God and when we have respect for God we give him the glory that he so justly deserve. And the church said Amen.

And so the bible says in verses 5& 6 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

I was a little tickled at this statement because one summer I worked the night shift at Beniot Machine shop. It was hard because I couldn’t wait for my shift to be over. I had to drink coffee and that didn’t help because when you’re sleepy you’re sleepy.But church I needed that money to buy school clothes to go back to southern that next fall. And the text says we wait and we hope in the Lord like a person who works the night shift and they sleepy but got to stay awake until morning. That means that we are waiting and anticipating that God will see us through. That’s why the old folk use to sing If the Lord don’t help me I can’t stand the storm.

The bible say hope deferred makes the heart sick. but when hope is realized it bring joy too the soul. That’s why you could be going through hell and high water and your eyes are filled with tears just remember that weeping may endure for a night but Joy comes in the morning. There is forgiveness with God and we wait with expected hope for God’s divine deliverance.

And then not to keep you too long here the word of God says in verses 7&8 Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

1. Put your hope and trust in the LORD God Jehovah Adonai The Self Existent One. The Almighty God Himself.

Tell your neighbor: Stop Trusting people who can’t do nothing for you. When I was young I trusted my friend to have his mom stop and pick me up to go to the pool. But they never came. When they got back they all said how much fun they had. I might have been 10 or 11 but I never forgot that.Long story short but my grandfather would stop and pick them up and drop us off at the movies. Trust God not man because man will let you down, sooner or later.And if it hasn’t happen to you yet just keep on living.

2. And so the writer of this great 5th division of Psalm #130 says wait on God with Hope because he has Mercy and Plenty of redemption.In verse 7 Mercy is God not giving us the punishment that we are guilty of. That’s why one of the best and shortest prayers in the world is Lord have Mercy. I know the title of this sermon is Lord Please Forgive Me. But if I had to choose between the two I’d choose Lord have mercy, and here’s why. I said momo please forgive me.. She said I forgive you but you getting this whipping for doing that then you gon remember not to do it no mo. But God says in verse 7 I forgive you and I’m not going to give you a whipping this time I’m going to give you mercy.

I’ve got to close here but tah “the last thing is in verse 8 The Lord has plenty of redemption. Brothers and sisters without Christ there is no everlasting redemption. The Old Testament conceals marvels but the New Testament reveals miracles.The Old Testament promises but the New Testament delivers us the victorious redemption of Jesus Christ. Because One Friday yes Lord they took my Lord and your God um um um And led Him on Up to Calvary’s Hill . Yes The nailed His hands, and riveted His feet. They stretched Him wide and hung Him up high And oh He died. Didn’t He die? He died that you and I might have the right to the tree of life . Because 3 days later Early on a Sunday Morning He got up with All Power in His Hands, Ain’t God Alright. Ain’t He Alright 5th, 7th, 8th Oh yes He is. Lord I want say thank you for saving our souls Making us whole For picking us up and turning us around. Ain’t He Alright. Lord I want to thank you for forgiving our sins and blotting out our transgression Lord please forgive us as we try to live in this mean old cruel world. Help us to love right. Help us to live right. Help us to give right. Help us to be kind to our fellow human being in this world. Help us Lord to lay aside hate and malice. help us to stay saved. Help us Lord to stay rooted and grounded in your love.Please sir to have mercy oh Lord oh Lordy ah. Yes
