A Heavenly Perspective

Genesis 1:26-31 (NKJV)

The first word to look at here is “image” in Genesis 1:26 “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth”. Image here means “likeness, i.e that which is a pattern, model or example of something”.

How did the first camera cause images to reflect on paper. The first camera would have light shine from the object into a black hole, that would shine the light into the “dark room” and the reflection of the object outside the dark room would appear on the screen. This is the parallel to the Body of Christ reflecting the image of the LORD into the Earth! The LORD being the object that is shining the light on the outside of the dark room (the earth/world/system) and the light being the Son of God and the reflection of Him being us.

The second word to bring attention to here is “likeness”: Similitude or resemblance of something”.

Being made in the image and the likeness of God the Father means that we are patterned after, we resemble Him. This was done before anyone ever sinned, therefore it is a fact that can’t be changed. YOU LOOK LIKE GOD AND RESEMBLE HIM WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT OR BELIEVE IN HIM OR NOT. Belief in God doesn’t change the natural order that you look like God. The fact that you are able to use breath and say syllables means that you speak like God. You may not use your words correctly but speech itself comes from Him. The fact that you are able to make decisions with your mind, is a God-given and God-like characteristic that belongs to Him. Everything that has been made was made from Him with His Word, His breath, His voice.

3. Jump down to verse 31: “Then God saw everything that He has made, and indeed it was very good...”. Therefore, the scripture tells me when He made man in in His image He said that we are good, I am good. (BUT that was before the flood of the Earth and Him starting over). Correct, but that doesn’t change that what He made was good, everything grew back, man multiplied in the Earth, vegetation returned, animals multiplied and here we are today. Stop allowing the enemy of your mind to convince you that you are that shame, you are those mess ups, you are that porn addiction, you are that brokenness.

You are THE IMAGE OF GOD, THE LIKENESS OF GOD, THE GOOD OF GOD!
