The Heart Of Jesus

The heart of the king
Matthew 8:1–4 NKJV
When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
After the Sermon on the mount Jesus came down from the mountain and many followed.
And a Leper came and worshiped Jesus
The Leper heard Jesus and was filled with faith
He heard the good news of the Kingdom of God and responded by bringing to Jesus his sickness
A leper was someone who had a physical disease, that at the time had no cure. This disease also carried with it and emotional and social wound.
Lepers were cast out from society, not only did they suffer physically but socially.
They couldn’t be around people.
Also this disease plagued their soul because it was believed they were sick because of Sin.
Therefore it was their fault or their family that brought on them this terrible disease.
Yet this leper heard the words of Jesus and something turned inside this man that he dared to approach Jesus and worship Him.
Worship is a sign of recognition of who you are standing before. Worship is a result of time spent in His presence
He knelt - an act of humility and submission
He Asked - we have not because we don’t ask
Jesus responds to his approach, and confirms His will to heal the man
Jesus touched Him - The touch that changes everything
Go and show yourself to the priest to and offer the sacrifice for cleansing.
