Titus 2:1–4 NKJV
1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.

Today it is our honor to celebrate the Life and Ministry of Pastor Vivian Wilkes on her Birthday!

1. Today we count you worthy of double honor for all the years of Study and Teaching.

1 Timothy 5:17 NKJV
17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.
to teach in the word is actually labor.
Not only is it labor in the word of God, it is labor in your life. The enemy works on you double time when you are equipping the saints.
it will be heaven until you fully see the impact of your ministry.
Today I am the Senior Pastor of the Church where you use your ministry and so I get to stand for all the Sr. Pastors you have served and say thank you for walking along side of us and serving with us and serving us as we serve the people.
I feel like you got over looked for years when it came to people appreciating and recognizing the contributions that you have made to local congregations. ( Not just you but all women pastors).

2. We thank you for transparency and honesty.

Galatians 6:6 NKJV
6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
Titus 2:1–4 NKJV
1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
I don’t Know if people listened when you talk, but I thank God you tell the truth and shame the devil.
I hope every woman in this room listens when you talk about alcoholism.
I hope every woman in this room hears you when you talk about how the Lord taught you to be happy in Him no matter how Ronnie is acting that day.
i thank God that you had those years of lack because I learned heard those things and condemnation broke over parts of my life.

3. We thank you that you said yes to the call of God when other women where not really known to be preachers!

2 John 1 NKJV
1 The Elder, To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,
you had to go harder, faster, higher, then the men who where striving to do the same thing who didn't have to do.
Expound—

4. We Honor you for a life of service and ministry to the body of Christ.

Romans 13:7 NKJV
7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
Hebrews 13:17 NKJV
17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
