Loving God requires Means Hating Worldly Practices as God’s People
Loving God requires Means Hating Worldly Practices as God’s People
Read Leviticus 20:22-23
Throughout the books of the Law God commands His people to obey His statues, His laws, His judgements (what God has declared right in His sight). Lest the land vomit you out. The Canaanites were going to be removed from the land not because God needed a place for Israel but because of their wickedness. This passage is about punishment to those who break God’s Law. And He warns the people the God abhors these things. God finds disgust in them. We have talked about how we need to love what God loves , and have good fellowship with Him and His people. But we also need to hate the things that are contrary to Him.
(ILL) I love potatoes. One of the meals that my family has is Chicken, vegetable, with potatoes. Mashed Potatoes is the best way to have. I love that, If anyone brought me mashed potatoes, I would be happy person. I love mashed potatoes. But you want to know what is awful. Instant potatoes. Whoever invented instant potatoes was a sinner. They have such an artificial taste to them. I know that instant potatoes are just process potatoes made easier for your convince. But they have been processed and they are evil and a part of curse. I wouldn’t be happy if you brought me instant potatoes, I wouldn’t be happy. No imagine someone for some crazy reason mixing the together. What is wrong you? You monster. The two shouldn’t be mixed. Something that is good shouldn’t be mixed with something that evil.
The people of Israel are not to intermix with the world’s culture. Loving God Requires Means Hating Worldly Practices. Don’t have a just as I Am mentality. God accepts me for who I am. God commands His people as you have recieved Christ so walk in Him.
How are we to walk in a way that is consistent in the one we have believed in?
