Creation or Controversy?

Let’s begin this morning by reading the last part of Genesis 1:27

Genesis 1:27 KJV 1900

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

There it is. ‘Male and female created He them.” Did you ever think you’d live long enough to see the simplest thing in the world become the most controversial thing in the world? Jesus said, Matthew 19:4 “4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,”

Welcome to 2024. We’re now living in a time our society that gender reveal parties will no longer be held for new born’s, but for eighteen year olds…or younger. There are 10 states that have moved to restrict “gender affirming care” for MINORS, under 18 years old. Ten states. NC is not one of them, so, pay attention when you vote this November. Contact your legislators now!

I want you to understand how evil this movement is. Have you ever asked “Why are they doing Drag Queen story time at pre-schools and elementary schools? Why not at retirement centers or nursing homes?” The answer is, adults are not impressionable and as easily swayed as are the youngest and most vulnerable around us. Church, here is the truth: if we sit back and do nothing we are going to lose the next generation to the enemy…by the way, let me be clear: The enemy is not the democratic party. The enemy is not the Biden administration. The enemy is Satan, and He hates God.

Now, let me take another risk here: liberalism is the mouthpiece of Satan. I want to prove that you from the book of Genesis this morning that Satan is using the liberal agenda to attack the Word of God in three areas. First...

The Design of God

Male and Female

The Bible is clear, God CREATED MAN - the word “man” is the Hebrew word “Awdawm” and means, literally, mankind. It refers to the species, humans beings. Created by God separately and different from the animals. There is nothing offensive in using the word MAN. There is nothing dangerous when you say it. It won’t hurt you, it won’t cause you pain. It simply refers to the fact, that God created mankind.

Now, if that is where this verses stopped, then we would stop, but God’s Word goes on it says, “So God created man in His own image…MALE and FEMALE created He them.”

This is where the problem comes occurs. People today are not satisfied with this answer. “What about my child that was born male, but “She” feels like a girl?”

There’s the problem! Life changing decisions, life altering decisions, should NEVER be made based on FEELINGS. Psychologists say that children dealing with “gender dysphoria (confusion)” typically out grow it once they reach puberty. The problem? Society wants to give “puberty blockers” to five years old. They want to chemically sterilize and castrate, and eventually physically castrate, that is bodily mutilation through surgery, kids, not adults!

God says:

I made you the way you are.

Man says:

You were made wrong.

Who are you going to believe? Have you ever considered the logic of the leftists? If you’re homosexual they declare: IT’S NOT A CHOICE, THEY WERE BORN THIS WAY, THEY CAN’T CHANGE. If you’re transgender they declare: “THEY CAN CHANGE, THEY CAN’T HELP THEY WERE BORN IN THE WRONG BODY, IT’S THEIR CHOICE.”

Friends, I tell you that if we as a society embrace this full throttle, we will not survive. The creation of man as male if female is only one area of God’s design under attack by Satan, and please remember, the liberal agenda is just his mouthpiece. 2. God’s Design for Marriage

Turn to Genesis 2:21-25

Genesis 2:21–25 KJV 1900

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

God’s design for marriage is ONE man and ONE woman…FOR LIFE.

**I understand some of you here today, some of you listening online, have gone through divorce in your past. Some of you have shared with me the details of the divorce, others haven't, and let me say as your pastor who loves you, I’m not your judge on these issues. Divorce was not part of God’s plan from the beginning,but unfortunately it is a part of daily life. I’m not going to say that nothing good ever comes from divorce, because with a divorce, I wouldn’t be here. My parents had both been married before to the wrong people and both their first marriages ended in divorce. I’m thankful for that this morning. All that being said, I cannot skip over this important truth: God's plan, God’s design for marriage was to be between a man and a woman, for life.

It became evident that marriage was under attack in the closing days of Obama’s first term. We the people of this great state voted in a super majority to define marriage in our state constitution as between a man and a woman, but we saw what good that did.

Do you remember what we were saying in 2012? We were warning that redefining marriage would be a slippery slope, that it would open doors that should never be opened. Church, here we are.

The Decree of God

Read what is called the “Creation Mandate” Genesis 1:28

Genesis 1:28 KJV 1900

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

1. God’s decree to man was to “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth...”

To “Be fruitful and multiply” means to have children. The best estimate AI could give me regarding the abortion rate in 2023 was 1, 037,000. That is a rate of 15.9 abortions for every 1000 women living in the US.

Makes sense right? God said, “Be fruitful and multiply” so why wouldn’t Satan use every means at his disposal to convince you to do the opposite. Children are not a mistake. Children are not a hindrance. Children are not a choice. Children are a blessing from God and anyone or anything that declares otherwise is a lie!

The creation mandate not only decreed that we should reproduce, but...

2. God’s decree was to “subdue” the earth and to take “dominion” over all of creation.

Subdue and dominion are different words in Hebrew, but they both have similar ideas in mind, mainly to take control or to bring under subjection.

Any liberal hears this message today and their heads are going to explode.

Today we are told the opposite. That we need to let the earth have dominion over us. That we are the problem, that we are all going to die…that’s true, I agree with that part, but not that the earth is going to kill us.

We’re told the earth is overpopulated, but you can actually fit the population of the United States in the city of Jacsksonville Florida, comfortably. The population of the WORLD could fit comfortably in the state of Texas, but we’re overpopulated? The overpopulation scam and environmentalism is nothing but a tactic to feed the fires of abortion. BY decreasing the population we are helping the earth sustain itself.

By decreasing the population you are murdering innocent children by the millions each year, and that’s only the American number.

The devil attacking everything that God stands for: the design of God, the decrees of God, and most importantly, he is attacking...

The Desire of God

I want to ask you a question this morning: “What is it that God desires more than anything?” Or maybe a better question, “Why would God create man in the first place, knowing beforehand all the sinful choices and problems we would cause?” I asked myself those same questions, and here is the answer I came to: God’s greatest desire, what He wants more than anything else, is to have fellowship with you through a personal relationship with His Son.

That is why God made man.

That is why God made the earth, so that He would have a place to fellowship with man.

That is why when man sinned, God made a way for sins to be forgiven.

This is what God desired from the beginning, and this is what God desires now for you.

Satan knows this, and he hates it! That is why he is so busy trying to confuse us, trying to sedate us - through pleasures and pass times. That is why he is doing everything in his power to keep people from God, distorting the truth, and destroying our homes.

Who are you going to let win?

Conclusion:

There is a war being fought and Church, we are losing ground. Do you know why? Becasue we refuse to acknowledge we are even at war. We see things and get angry, but then we say, “What can I do about it?” For one, you can stop being quiet about it. You can take a stand. You can get involved.

You say abortion is wrong, then come back tonight and see what YCR is doing…maybe you will decide to stand with them.

You say that the woke agenda is wrong, then maybe you should attend a school board meeting and speak up before we have a problem.

Church, revival will not come if we do not begin seeking God’s face.
