28“Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other prophets.”

Intro:

A. Ethos: This is the story when Jesus and his disciples came back from feeding the multitude and Jesus had also performed another miracle by healing a blind man. Then Jesus had a conversation with his disciples and asked about the rumors or the tea that’s out there about him

So, he had his disciples tell him the tea!!!

The people in the city didn’t spend time with Jesus like the disciples did so they only got a glimpse of who Jesus was or knew GOSSIP!!!

On Facebook it would look like this……”People you may know”

Those are Jesus Facebook friends (Jesus went live)

But here in the 4 walls of the church we are with our church family

Church family = associates

we come every week, some two or 3 times a week and we preach and teach and have encounters with God!!

We learn about God on a deeper level, who Jesus is and the miracles he performed and about who we are in the kingdom.

We sing Hosanna blessed be the rock, Master, savior, or Jireh, my provider, Jehovah Nissi, I’ll fight your battles….for I am….I am I am God, and all the songs

Go home and God don’t hear from the associates until they meet again for the next service

But the…..Inner Circle = Disciples

The inner circle knows him on deeper level. The relationship goes beyond Facebook, it goes beyond the 4 walls of the church. It’s intimate it’s personal, (car, shower, Home)

and we sit here with tears in our eyes because we love and know him to be GOD right!!! But as we are singing, preaching and teaching about God and his deity.!!!!

Do we really believe!! Do we truly have the Faith that he is who we say he is!! WHO DO YOU SAY I AM!!

· Even though Jesus knew that he spent so much time with his disciples, he wanted to know who they believed he was!! WHO DO YOU SAY I AM??!!

Hebrews 11:6

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

By faith

· when you come to God you have to believe he is God when you call him!!

· Who is he when you are calling him!! WHO DO YOU SAY I AM!!!

· You are a Child of the most-high!!

· Benefits to being a child of the King!!!

· So, when you come to him you have to come bold with faith and believe that he is!!

· Yes God gives us a blue Print of prayer The Lord’s Prayer…But there are times and circumstances when step away from that blue print. Just like Jesus did when he was on the cross…..FATHER FORGIVE THEM BECAUSE THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO.

· He’s a friend,

· So we can approach him as such. There are certain benefits that come with friendship. You go and dine at a friends restaurant, and they give you a little extra on your plate for no extra fee. Or even getting a discount,

· you know, the HOMIE HOOK UP!!!!! The homie be like “I got you….say less”!!!!

· God is good for giving us the homie hook up lol He be looking out

· He calls you friend!! So you approach him as such!! Lord just let me tell you, this ninja done lost his mind talking to me like that but, I’ma be cool though!!

· NO TIME FOR THE BLUE PRINT!!!

· He’s Jirah A Provider!!

· Do we come to him truly believing that he will provide every one of our needs, Lord I come to you because you are Jehovah Jirah!!

· He owns everything!! so why don’t we come to him believing that because he owns everything and he is our provider that he won’t provide everything that we need and then leave it there.

· WHO DO YOU SAY I AM!!!! You must believe I am when you say I am!!

· HE IS WHO WAS AND IS TO COME!!

· HE PROVIDED FOR ME THEN, HE PROVIDES FOR ME NOW AND HE WILL PROVIDE FOR ME IN THE FUTURE!!

· We don’t have to do anything extra in order for him to provider our needs why? Because that is who he is, this what he does…. he providers!!! Call him by his name and believe it when you say it!!

· He is our FATHER!!!

· As his daughter, I am entitled to certain benefits in the kingdom of God, so when I come to him and I talk to him I come to him as his daughter.

· Example: there are certain ways my kids can come into my house, my room, my personal space and know they are entitled to because they are my daughters, they are my children, of course I’m going to roll my eyes but I got them, they are covered!!

· They can come in my room and get what they need out of my room because they are in need and they know I got it.

· If They are in trouble it’s a certain call I get…..MOM!!!! Then I respond as momma!!

· God is the same way, I go to God as my father…….Daddy!!! Help!! I can’t do this by myself!!! I need you!!! In a whole melt down because I know, he will be there he has seen me in all of my good and bad times, he’s been there to wipe the tears, he’s been there to wipe the tears, he’s been there to put the band-aid on it and say “it’s ok” try it again. Or

· Lover of my soul

· Now…….I don’t know how many people in here has every had a lover but……..

· WHO DO YOU SAY I AM!!!!

and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Let your hands and give him glory just for who he is!!!

Get that situation, that issue, that illness in you mind and call him by his name!! Take him at his word!!!

He is Lord of All!!

Some of us need to repent for not believe that he is who he says he is!!
