what should the church do in political unrest?

Pray for our leaders and for our nation

1 Timothy 2:1–4 NKJV

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Political violence looms large in our national history, to our shame. It does not have to define our future.

2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

revivals have all started with just one to four people the first and second great awaking one man on fire for the lord not wanting change in the world not wanting change in his town but a real change in his heart

Men like johnathan edwards a man set apart by God with a desire to be more like him yes he preached hard he preached repentance but it was the revival of his own heart that started a fire

Men like Francis asbury from the second great awaking he was a man who served god his whole life came to america to be a missionary to the Indians on a boat ride between america and london he met some monks aboard the boat he heard of thier love for god thier deep devotion to him their self denial he was a man who felt ashamed in thier presence he wanted real change in his own heart walking the streets of london he had his road to Damascus experance with God and forever changed him. No more was he just a believer of the facts of Jesus no now he was a soul saved by the grace of a living loving Lord , He went back to america and stareted traveling all over doing camp meetings and the birth of the second great awaking was given birth

You see what we need as a country not a democrat in the white house its not a republican in the white houses no what he need in america is our house given back to the lord our heart given back to the lord it must start with us Joe cant save us from this mess and neither can Donald only Christ Jesus can save us

So we must pray for our nation our leaders Donald and Joe we must pray for our entire Goverment whther we are allighned politically or not

But first we must pray that before we pray for the hearts of others we must pray for our own heart is it right with Jesus?

2.Seek to council of God and His people

As the Political climite seemes to be growing darker Ive heard allot about people wanting a civil war or people who want to start a revolution. One I would say this is in violation of scripture we can look at

Romans 13:1 NKJV

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

or Revalations 13:7-10

Revelation 13:7–10 NKJV

It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If anyone has an ear, let him hear. He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

So lets be clear even if and when the anti christ comes on scene we are told not to arm ourselves and fight back but we must go into captivity and some of us will even die. I know I know i can already hear it but Ron you dont understand how can i sit back and let something happen to my family

I say to you brother im with you im struggling with that right now my flesh says rise up take up arms protect whats mine but the scripture says otherwise so to which do i give authority over my life my will or the will fo God ?

I doubt it will ever come to a civil war or a revolution i just dont think we have it in us. But what could happen is something like what Ireland has experienced decades long political violence retribution and with many claiming to do it in Gods name. Let me say this there is no honoring God in that.

3. Christ can be the only savior

At the Rnc i saw and heard many disturbing things that may not have caught your attention but let me explain what i saw

Trump is not the savior only Jesus is

Ive seen feeds saying jesus is my savior and trump is my president

If see some sayg there is two saviors Jesus and now trump

This is all highly concerning Only Jesus gets the praise He is the king of kings He is the Lord of Lords he will share his throne with no man

So one question that came out of this dreadful attempt on His life is did God save him from this attempt . My answer is yes God is soverign nothing in this world happens by chance what he has declared will come to pass whether that be moses leading the isreal out of captivity or the walls of jericho come crashing down, the defeat of goliath, The rise of Christ the death of Christ the Resurrection of Christ the fall of judas, all these things are in the soverighn will and grace of God if God would have willed Donald to be removed from this earth he would have it seem this was not Gods desire as Trump is still with us today, That does not mean however that he is the Chosen one as some are suggesting God may use this for His greater good as romans 8 :28 says he will

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

But be slow to fall into this love face and idolization of a man our Worship is to be reserved for the one true King the Lord Jesus Him self for he has said

Daniel 2:21 NKJV

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.

So what do we do in this political environment?

WE for one pray for our government, keep our eyes on Jesus not one political party or another remember we are foreigners on this land we belong not to the USA but to the kingdom of God

Before we can have a impact on Washington we must allow God to have a impact on our hearts
