“I Am Legend” - There are truly terrifying things; however, they are temporary and not really real.
Grotesque Monsters (vs. 1-8 and 15-21)

Babylon, Media, Persian, and Greece were terrific oppressors.
God allowed these revolting kingdoms squash his own people.
This world, and the powers that be, are amazing at crushing your soul.
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
Glorious Monarch (vs. 9-14 and 22-28)
Glorious Monarch (vs. 9-14 and 22-28)
The most powerful and wicked kingdoms of this world are mere pawns in God’s hand.
Biden and Trump are mere pawns in God’s sovereign hand. Do not think they will outlast or outsmart God.
God will remove these monsters and replace them with his children. (vs. 12, 18 & 27)

Conclusion
Waking from a nightmares still requires the person to fully “wake up”. They need to get ahold of their surroundings. Likewise, we far too often get caught up in this nightmare to wake up and really look at who is in control of our surroundings.
Application
Application
Like these kingdoms, you will be trampled, destroyed, cast out, burned with fire if you do not put your faith in Jesus Christ. Turn to him today and live!
This week, as we fight to recognize who is in control, let us remind ourselves of God’s sovereignty. Each time I hear “Biden” or “Trump” this week, I will verbally say God is sovereign.
