Jeffrey Allen Dyson
Today we are here to honor the life of Jeffery Allen Dyson.
I would like to begin today’s service with the reading of Scripture, followed by Prayer.
Scripture
Scripture
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to his understanding.
29 He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless.
30 Youths may become faint and weary, and young men stumble and fall,
31 but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Many people knew enjoyed time with him around a card table playing Poker or Keno
He was a fan of cooking breakfast on the weekends....his Specialty was Pancakes with an Egg in the Middle....He was not a fan of cleaning up his breakfast mess.
A truck driver by trade Jeff drove for J.B. Hunt for past 34 years.
His kids will always remember the over the road trips which included a trip to California.
He evidently also enjoyed doing his kids homework for them. Something was said about math classes being passed by dad.
He was an amazing grandpa who loved and adored his 4 Grandkids.
As we reflect on Jeff’s life I would like to give a few minutes to his family to share their thoughts.

From Gage,
Dad, I never knew how soon I would have to write this. You can truly never prepare to lose someone you love, especially your father. It is very weird and extremely heartbreaking writing this. As a million thoughts and memories have been rushing through my mind, one thing I could always know for sure is that you were always here for me no matter what. You were there when I was at my lowest, always with a shoulder to cry on, and food cooking on the stove to express your love for anyone to receive. You were there when I felt I was on the top of the world, giving you reasons to be proud of the man I am today, telling everyone you knew, about me and what i’ve accomplished. The smile that you would give would light the darkest of days, your laugh was contagious.
My favorite memories of you were when I would wake you up at 4:30 in the morning, ready to go to the Wichita South YMCA, before I had to go to the school. I would knock on the door of your truck, excited to see you, half asleep, but ready to go workout. We would always go stop at the mcdonald’s right before and pick you up a cup of coffee, and me an oatmeal. That YMCA holds so many memories that whenever I drive by there, I will always get a smile remembering that you were my biggest motivator to do my best. If it wasn’t going to the gym, it was all those weekends we played pool for hours, watching football on sundays. Or it was our Poker nights at your apartment every weekend with some pretty great guys. Our poker nights would take 5 hours to finish a game and looking back they weren’t long enough. If it wasn’t your hand, you were either cooking us all food, mixing up your greatest recipes, or you were playing us your guitars, harmonicas, banjo’s, and showing us new songs you were learning, or even your favorites like Neil Young.
You were the greatest Dad I could have ever asked for. You taught me to have love in my heart for anyone that needed it, you taught me that family always came first. You taught me to provide, to enjoy the little things that life has to offer, you taught me the beauty in music, and you sure did have a pretty great taste in it. You taught me how to golf, you taught me how to play baseball, even though one wild pitch got away from me and hit you where the sun doesn’t shine that one day on Waldron. No matter what I did, you never let that distract you from the love you had for me. I will forever be trying to make you proud and live up to the Dyson name. Until we see each other again, I love you Dad. Same moon

Eulogy
Eulogy
Today Jeff in the presence of Jesus and if he could speak to all of us today he would tell you eternity is very real. There are two options Eternity in the Care and Presence of God Almighty and Eternity outside the Care and Presence of God Almighty.
You see there is so much we don’t under about what eternity will look like and we won’t understand until we reach our appointed time.
12 Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.
Because of our lack of understanding we try to fill in the blanks with statements like
“Well God needed another Angel so he took our loved one from us”
“God need him more than we did.”
These statement paint God as selfish and uncaring. Which could not be farther from the truth.
We live in a fallen world and our souls are trapped in bodies that are constantly fighting against us.
At some point our bodies give out and we pass into eternity or some tragety comes along that ushers us on to eternity. This is the result of that fallen world.
But God is not seated on His thrown plucking us out of existence as part of a game bent on making us suffer.
He actually cares very deeply for all of us.
The Apostle John writes
16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
And
Paul tell us in:
8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
See God loved us so much that He came in the Flesh on a rescue mission.
So that those who would follow Jesus would not perish but have eternal life.
14 Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through his death he might destroy the one holding the power of death—that is, the devil—
15 and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.
16 For it is clear that he does not reach out to help angels, but to help Abraham’s offspring.
Those who follow this path:
9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Will be considered sons and daughters...
God didn’t need another Angel but He welcomed a Son Home Monday evening.
In April of 1997 following a family members funeral Jeff made that decision to Make Jesus his Lord and Savior.
He Confessed and Believed therefore he had no reason to fear death.
That is why I believe he would speak today that you too need to make a decision.
God is a gentleman....If you choose to have nothing to do with Him in this Life, He will not force you to spend eternity with Him.
That is why He created a place for those who want nothing to do with Him to spend eternity.
Eternity outside of the Presence of God where there is no peace, joy, love, comfort, or any of the other good things that come from the presence of God.
So Today I believe Jeff would ask you to make a Choice to allow Jesus to become part of your life as Lord and Savior.
Would you Bow your Heads
