Use What You Got

It was in the year 2020 when a chaotic and catastrophic pandemic called COVID-19 hit our country. This pandemic cause the whole country to shut down. During this time we saw loved ones pass away we saw friends pass away. We lost Jobs , We lost the ability to go and be among our loved ones. This Pandemic caused an unexpected shift.

I Just want to pause and ask you what do you when life has an unexpected shift? I’m sure some of you can testify and say I have been in an unexpected shift before. But I thank God for being there every step of the way. I thank him because even when the shift was unexpected to me he knew all along. And I thank him because if it had not been for the Lord on my Side, The shift should have taken me out I should’ve lost mind, I should be dead But God. I don’t know about you but I thank him that the shift didn’t take me out.

This unexpected shift of Covid-19 allowed somethings to happen in our life, but not only did something happen to us, We were given something.

Church as I stated previously in 2020 We lost a lot. So there was something that the government of this country decided on during this time. They decided to give citizens of this country stimulus checks. Adults would receive 1200 and children 500.

Come here cause you are looking at me funny this was given to us because the the shut down of the country took away some of our abilities to work and to be able to provide for our families. So the government decided to give us something so we could use it to still be able to survive in this chaotic situation. Now we know what it was given to us for but we still decided (I’m Not talking about y’all) but we still decided to use what was given to us, not in its proper usage for what it was intended for.

Church I don’t know if this is how you feel or if you have felt this way before, however we are living in a day and age now where we see God has given us talents and abilities but, The the things he has given us we are not using it in its proper usage in what it was intended for. What has God given to you for you to work but you are using it everywhere else instead of the place he intended for you to use what was given to you.

We often find ourselves in these places because we want to certain things and glory to come to us. This is what happened to Lucifer He was given something but he thought that he should be getting the Glory and God kicked him out of Heaven because there Can’t be two Heads in one House. No Man can Serve two masters you will either love one and hate the other. Many times church we find ourselves trying to be exalted above The one who has given us the ability. We let our Pride get in the way and we begin to think It we Got to where we are based off our own ability but it wasn’t your ability it was God who allowed it to happen. It is in God whom we live move and have our being. The songwriter would put it like this Without Him I would be nothing without him I will Fail Without him My life would be drifting Like a ship without a Sail. It’s not we our selves however it is nobody but the Lord. Can’t Nobody do me like Jesus Can’t nobody Do me like the Lord. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. We got understand it is not we ourselves but It is Lord. Just Look Down your row and say It’s the Lord It’s the Lord.

Now we see here that our text teaches us some things today on what we should be doing when God gives you something. We see here in Matthew 25

This is a Parable that Jesus is Teaching. This teaching can be illustrated and be an example of how things work in the Kingdom. In the Kingdom God gives us talents and abilities to use for his Glory. But Brothers and sisters with God giving us this talent an ability it comes with something. I Say this because if you look at the Word Talent in its original meaning here its means to bear a weight.

Meaning that This These Talents that are coming from God is a weight of his Glory that we carry to operate in certain giftings so that He may be glorified. We are given these talents based off of what God knows we can handle.

The bible tells us in Matthew 25:15

Matthew 25:15 NLT

He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.

He Gives the Talent based off of their abilities. Just like in the Parable how the master knows his servants and gives them an amount based off their abilities, that is how God is with his children. He knows all about us and he places us and gives us talents based off our ability. This is why we must learn how to accept and use what God has given to us.

This Brings me to my first point and that is you Must operate with What is given to you.

The text goes on and you can read it when you get a chance but it tells us that the owner had 3 servants and he gave them the ability off of what he knew they could do. So the one with the 5 went out and got 5 more and the one with the 2 went out and got 2 more but the one with the one went and buried his because he was afraid. Church I Just want to know are you operating in what God has given to you or are you hiding it. We must operate in what he gives us its too many people in the church not operating in the what God has given us. Not only that but we have people trying to operate in what has not been given to them. If you are given a bag full of lemons your operations should be to make lemonade. Not apple juice not orange Juice but lemonade. In the Kingdom God has given us an assignment based off our ability. We got to operate in the field and area where he has called us to. Thats a big issue we see in the church today we are trying to operate where we are not called. We want to be like everyone else and do what they do but they are in that certain position because of the things they went through. You Might see them now but you Don’t know what they had to endure to get to the position they are at now.

We find ourselves asking God for more and He is saying you haven’t even used and operated in what he has given you and we see others around us going up and we see the gifts that God is using through them and we are asking God to do it for us but the text already told us that he gives things based off our ability. You got to learn how to work what you have. Yeah I know you see others with more but thats cause they can handle more you have to learn how to use what you have and operate in what God has given you. I know it may not seem like much but Little can become much in the Hands of the Lord. If you use what you Got, God will get the Glory out of what he has assigned to you. Just look at somebody and tell them its time to operate.

You been in a season of being stagnant long enough. You’ve cried long enough you’ve complained long enough. It’s time for you to get up and operate in what God has called you to do. Because greater is he that’s in you than he that’s in the World. You’ve got something down on the inside of you that the World needs. Get up from there. Come Forth. The season of being afraid is over it’s time to move on what God has Said. We have to operate we Can’t be scared but we got to operate. For God has not given us a Spirit of Fear but of Love Power and a sound mind. You Got Power its times to operate. God has a glory on your life and he wants to use you. Work your Gift and Operate. If your Gift is singing, then sing For the Glory of God, If your gift is praying, Pray For the Glory of God…….

Operate in Your Gift.

Not only that Church what I learned in my short time of living when there is an operation going on that means that someone is observing you. Because after you have the operation you have to have your observation. For the bible declares in the 19th and 20th verse that Master comes back and asks his servants a question. He asks them to give an account of what they had done. Church the Lord already know what we have done. He knows because he gives us assignments based off of our ability, However he still is going to ask us the question for us to give him an account of what we did. Thats just like when you are in a observation from your boss and they ask you how do you think you did on this and they already know how you did because they observed you.

Thats all I come by to tell you today is that you are under observation. The Lord has left you with somethings to operate but while you are operating God is observing. He is observing to make sure that you are doing the things he left for you to do. He is observing your character. He is observing your deeds an actions. We must learn how to operate because one day he is coming back and he is going to want to know what did you do with the time while He was gone. If we are operating We will be able to say in our observation like the saints of old. Oh Lord I done done what you told me to do. I know that isn’t good english but it’s good theology, and we should take a lesson from this and realize no I haven’t did everything right but I have done what you told me do. I know I have to give an account and I will be observe but, in the Observation I can Hold my head high because I done done what you told me to do. You told me………

Just Look at somebody and tell them I done done.

Now we see here that something else takes place after there is observation. When you are on your Job and you have been operating in excellence. There is usually some news that you get while in your observation. That brings me to my final point today and that is Elevation and Termination.

Brothers and sisters The text teaches us something. The story says the man with the one talent hid his gift because he was afraid. The story goes on and says that the master tells the servant that he is Lazy and Evil. The man with the one talent went through Demotion because he was scared. It was Termination because He takes the one talent and gives it to the man with 10 talents. We got to get our mindset in order in the kingdom to operate in what God has called us to operate in because if not He will take what he has given us and give it to someone else. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to be Terminated because of being afraid and Lazy.

Church its a lot of believers that have been terminated because they have not walked in what God has called them to walk in.

And the thing about God is he will terminate you and let you keep working. But is there anyone here that can say I don’t want to be terminated. Im going to walk into what God has for me because Termination cannot be my final.

Closing!!!!

But Finally my brothers and sisters We see termination in the text but lastly we see Elevation. The text tells us that the man with 5 talents and the Man with 2 talents went out and did what they were suppose to do. After the Master heard there account and observed them he Tells them some. The text says that he tells them Well Done thy Good and Faithful Servant. You been faithful over few things now I will make you ruler over many, Enter into the Joy of the Lord.

Brothers and Sisters this Parable gives us an example of How the kingdom works and if we learn how to operate with what God has given us we will receive Elevation.

And that's all I came to tell you today is to keep the faith and continue to use what God has given you. Don’t throw in the towel but Keep on holding and keep on working because After while by and by you will be Elevated.

The old song would simply say use what you got it may be a little it may be alot but you got to use what you got.

You got to use what you got cause he is going to take you places Eyess Have not seen and Ears have not heard.
