Although Christ’s delay may be long, His return in judgment will be sudden and irreversible, so we must be prepared by trusting Him now with a persevering faith that bears fruit.
The Objective of Satan
The Objective of Satan
Revelation 12:9: “The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”
DEVIL (SLANDERER Which means a person who intentionally harms another person's reputation)
AND SATAN (ACCUSER a person who claims that someone has committed an offense)
He is the deceiver of the whole world
God is a God of Judgement and Grace
Genesis 3
God pronounces Judgement aon Man and the serpent.
We see Grace in action - God making a promise to redeem man from the stronghold of sin, death and the devil (He who wants to HARM your reputation)
15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
20 The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
21 And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.
22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—”
God wants to Change your identity
When ever God calls you - Set apart, your name will be changed. In other words, Who you were is not longer who you identify as…
Saul to Paul: Saul of Tarsus was a persecutor of Christians who experienced a dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus and became the Apostle Paul, one of the most influential figures in early Christianity (Acts 9:1-19).
Abram to Abraham: Abram's name was changed to Abraham by God, signifying his new role as the father of many nations (Genesis 17:5).
Sarai to Sarah: Similarly, Sarai's name was changed to Sarah, which means "princess," reflecting her new role as the matriarch of the promised nation (Genesis 17:15).
Jacob to Israel: Jacob's name was changed to Israel after he wrestled with a divine being, symbolizing his new identity and the formation of the Israelite people (Genesis 32:28).
Simon to Peter: Jesus changed Simon’s name to Peter (Cephas), which means "rock," indicating his role as the foundational leader of the early church (Matthew 16:18).
Woman to Eve - Once God speaks the word, that her seed will bruise the head of the enemy she is no longer Woman but EVE - Mother of all living
Beware: Satan is out to ruin your name
1. We value all types of items - Cars, Homes, Money…
2. For some, its not materialistic (as it should). Its health (Spiritual and Natural) , Family, Peace…..
3. No matter you value most - satan has a deceptive method to entice you or persuade you “to do”
4. There are many deceptive methods of Satan - The accuser.
TIME: Time is one thing you can not get back, once the deed is done, once procrastination has run its course, on the “I am just trying to figure it out or I need a little more time to get over it”
1 Cor 7th Paul is wringing concerning married, he says Lets come to gether QUICKLY that satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
There a common theme of reconciling unto God, with no delay.
When you refused to get it right it - “Cake and eat it too”. He still loved you, because there was a promise made in Gen 3:15
Sin will cause you to die of a slow death. What Good is living - walking dead or separate from God.
Stop running from what belongs to you
It was the promise if Christ that solidified your redemption.
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
Wonderful Counselor
That Isaiah prophecy calls the Messiah the “Wonderful Counselor” indicates the kind of character this coming King has. The word wonderful in Hebrew literally means “incomprehensible.”
Incomprehensible - people are not going to understand how you changed.
“full of wonder”
We say things are “wonderful” if they are pleasant, lovely, or the least bit likable. Jesus is wonderful in a way that is boggling to the mind.
Jesus is a wise counselor
3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Jesus always knows what we are going through, and he always knows the right course of action
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Mighty God
This speaks of Christ being our Guide and Stay. It literally means “to advise, counsel, devise, and plan.”
It was the saving grace of the Lord, that redeemed you - AND he didn’t leave you figure it out on you own - He has been
I am glad that I don’t have to make decisions for my family without His counsel.
As long as we walk in the ways of God, we are heading in the right direction.
Why is tells Paul - My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness
Ps. 37:23—The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
I rejoice that He has ordered my steps! Who better to follow than the Creator of this world and all it contains?
Everlasting Father
Jesus will care for his people forever, providing constant love and provision throughout life's changes. In ancient times, the "father of the nation" was expected to protect and provide for his children, and this child will continue that role in perpetuity.
Prince of Peace
Jesus will bring deep well-being and right relationships, offering calm to those who keep their minds on him.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
He preexisted with the Father (verse 1),
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
The term word is used in different ways in the Bible. In the New Testament, there are two Greek words translated “word”: rhema and logos. They have slightly different meanings. Rhema usually means “a spoken word.” For example, in Luke 1:38, when the angel told Mary that she would be the mother of God’s Son, Mary replied, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word [rhema].”
Logos, however, has a broader, more philosophical meaning. This is the term used in John 1. It usually implies a total message, and is used mostly in reference to God’s message to mankind. For example, Luke 4:32 says that, when Jesus taught the people, “they were amazed at his teaching, because his words [logos] had authority.” The people were amazed not merely by the particular words Jesus chose but by His total message.
“The Word” (Logos) in John 1 is referring to Jesus.
Jesus is the total Message—everything that God wants to communicate to man. The first chapter of John gives us a glimpse inside the Father/Son relationship before Jesus came to earth in human form.
The Word (Jesus) is the full embodiment of all that is God (Colossians 1:19; 2:9; John 14:9).
But God the Father is Spirit. He is invisible to the human eye.
He’s a well of water spring up.
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
The message of love and redemption that God spoke through the prophets had gone unheeded for centuries (Ezekiel 22:26; Matthew 23:37). People found it easy to disregard the message of an invisible God and continued in their sin and rebellion. So the Message became flesh, took on human form, and came to dwell among us (Matthew 1:23; Romans 8:3; Philippians 2:5–11).
The Greeks used the word logos to refer to one’s “mind,” “reason,” or “wisdom.” John used this Greek concept to communicate the fact that Jesus is God wrapped in flesh to save the world world.
In the Old Testament, the word of God brought the universe into existence (Psalm 33:6) and saved the needy (Psalm 107:20). In chapter 1 of his Gospel, John is appealing to both Jew and Gentile to receive the eternal Christ.
Jesus came that you may have abundant life.
This life is not a “Life” as you know it. But this “Zoe” Life - is a life full of promises.
Jesus returns this life to all of us at salvation. Our job is to protect this Zoe life blessing at all cost.
Gods Zoe life is intended to influence every aspect of our human life. Zoe life is so important that if it is obstructed by sin to any area of our lives that area immediately starts to die just as any human tissue will die if the blood supply is obstructed from that area. The obstruction of Zoe life by sin is critical to understand because the fatal consequence is inevitable death as cells die that lack oxygenated blood.
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.
13 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,
When you take on the name of the lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, we receive salvation (deliverance)and forgiveness.
Through the blood of christ, you were deliverance from the penalty of sin, that is, eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23; Matthew 25:46). Salvation is God’s rescuing us from our deserved fate.
Salvation also includes a more immediate deliverance from the power of sin in this life. Sin has lost its dominion over the saved ones (Romans 6:14).
Faith in Jesus Christ rescues us from the empty and meaningless life described in Ecclesiastes and provides us with a life that is abundant and fruitful (John 10:10; Galatians 5:22–23)
You need the Holy Ghost - In the dwelling
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Luke 19 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost
Gal 6:1
1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
When a brother is taken in a fault…. Restore : strengthen, perfect, complete, make one what he ought to be
Paul says in 1 Cor 13 - abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Love covers a multitude of sin
Communal attributes of God
God is holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, truthful, patient, and wise.
10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
So, in the beginning, God had a plan to redeem man Jesus Christ, when he died on the cross.
Matthew 13:19 (ESV)
19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path.
Jesus calls him “the evil one” (Matthew 13:19) and later in John calls him the “the ruler of this world.”
The Truth is Satan has no new OBJECTIVE but his method of deceiving is ever evolving….
your Adversary - satan seeks to disguise himself - to deceive the believer.
Matthew 24:24 (ESV)
24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Jesus is coming back
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—
