Counsel — His mind is not open to the ungodly point of view.
View with no foundation of God.
Inherently foolish.
Error starts with holding something as true that isn’t true.
Stand in the way
He is not getting closer, trying to see how close he can get.
Nor sits in the seat of the scorner.
The end of this progression is that he has joined with the scoffers.
The Blessed man is:
The Blessed man is:
His delight is in the law of the Lord.
Delight — He has a new heart that desires the things of the Lord. (Heart our affections have been changed.) We were children of darkness, now we are children of light and we rejoice in the light.
God commands — Deuteronomy 6:5 “5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
Deuteronomy 30:6 “6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.”
This is a gift of God
Ezekiel 36:25–27 “25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”
Psalm 119:5–6 “5 Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes! 6 Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments.”
Delight is in the law of the Lord.
Psalm 119:10–11 “10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.”
Psalm 119:14–16 “14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. 16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.”
Delight is both from within and without.
Psalm 37:4–5 “4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”
Here we see it commanded of us. If we chose to delight in the Lord, if we seek Him, we will find Him.
1 John 5:3 “3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”
This Law is not just good but a blessing to those who know it and pursue it.
Joshua 1:8 “8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Romans 7:12 “12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.”
And in His Law he meditates day and night.
If this law is really in our hearts, it is in our thoughts, and our desires will bring us back to it, again and again.
We find it good and think on it continually.

Joshua 1:8 “8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Psalm 1:3 “3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”
Tree — Stability, value, blessing to those around, beautiful to the eyes.
Planted — We will find that God has directed our paths, that all things are working for our eternal good. …
We are in a planned place.
We are in a good place
We have sufficiency.
Rivers of water.
This isn’t just a creek that dries up during the drought, the river of several creeks. Water will continues even in draught.
This is about our life. We have a life from within that will not die.
Whatever he does shall proper.
This isn’t to say that we will be rich or wealthy.
This is the man who’s desire is to do God Law. He will succeed in the work of obedience and the work that God has called him to.
