Deception among the gospel

We must be careful about the gospel that we preach today. There has been a false gospel that has come to light and it is very dangerous. This stems from the “sinners prayer.” How many times have we heard the term “recieve Christ into your heart?” Is this a biblical saying? Is it helpful or harmful?

How about how the church has become comfortable with a every eye closed every head bowed approach to an invitation. If you want to be saved just slip your hand up in the air. As you sit in your chair repeat this prayer after me. These types of sayings have damaged so many people I am afraid. This gives people a false sense of security in something that they may not have. Is there anything wrong with a sinners prayer? Absolutley not!! I just think that we as Christians, tend to go straight to that and not really explain what it means to be a Christian. To be a disciple of Christ.
