The Source of All Blessings
The Source of All Blessings
We must remember the source of all blessings and the One who meets our needs.
James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
Hebrews 1:3 tells us that Christ upholds the universe by the word of His power.
1 Corinthians 4:7 “For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?”
See Deuteronomy 8:11-18...
Supplication For Our Needs
Supplication For Our Needs
To ask for our daily bread is to ask for today’s needs to be met.
Matthew 6:34 ““Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Martin Luther said this about our daily bread: “everything necessary for the preservation of this life is bread, including food, a healthy body, good weather, house, home, wife, children, good government, and peace”
Hold your place in Deuteronomy 8 and turn to Proverbs 30:7–9...
1 Timothy 6:6–8 “But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.”
Our Supreme Need
Our Supreme Need
Our greatest need is the Lord Himself.
Matthew 4:4 “But he answered, “It is written, “ ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ””
See Deuteronomy 8:3–4...
Job said that he treasure the words of God’s mouth more than his daily portion of food (Job 23:12). Jesus said that His food was to do the will of His Heavenly Father (John 4:34).

Philippians 4:6–7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 37:25 “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.”
