King James Version (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 4:1-5)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, smake full proof of thy ministry.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
King James Version (Acts 20:17-20)
And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church. 18 And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, 19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: 20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly,
i. Profitable for doctrine
Doctrine is defined as the teachings of the Word of God organised in a logical manner and which forms the basis of belief.
ii. Profitable for reproof
Reproof (תֹּכִחִת גּעָרָה, ἔλεγχος), blame or reprehension spoken to a person's face. It is distinguished from a reprimand thus: he who reproves another, points out his fault, and blames him;
A scolding; rebuke. A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth REPROOF is prudent. ( Proverbs 15:5 ).
iii. Profitable for correction
The act of correcting; the act of bringing back, from error or deviation, to a just standard, as to truth, rectitude, justice or propriety; as the correction of opinions or manners.
iv. Profitable for instruction in righteousness
v. Profitable to make you into His image

Command
A lot rides on this Timothy! A lot rides on this church!
King James Version (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, eproud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
King James Version (1 Timothy 4:1-2)
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
5. The Proclamation of the Scripture!
5. The Proclamation of the Scripture!
4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
i. It is to be done in every season. Convenient and Inconvenient!
ii. It is to be done with patience and with what it says!
iii. It is used to come against the forces of darkness and their activity amongst people.
iv. It is used to reveal the sin nature and all that comes with that nature.
6. The Prophecy of the Scripture!
6. The Prophecy of the Scripture!
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
They want to go get drunk so they find a teacher who says its alright!
They want to have sex outside of marriage so they find a teacher who says its alright!
They want to gossip so they find a teacher who will never preach on it.
They want to sow discord so they get up in arms and run away when the seriousness of it is proclaimed.
They want the preemmenance so when they are not put in the spotlight and given glory they have no reason to be around.

5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
King James Version (1 Timothy 4:12-16)
12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
